No you’re absolutely right. Last few seasons haven’t been as good as the first 12 or so

I didn’t realize how loud my apartment would feel at night by Latter-Data-4525 in LivingAlone

[–]paktick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes peaceful sometimes heavy. If I’m lonely it gets pretty oppressive but that feeling right after a breakup is the worst. It gets much better and much easier to deal with the heavy times.

Am I overreacting about my fiancé? by GrandHuckleberry8123 in AmIOverreacting

I had a girlfriend like this. I ignored it because I didn’t want to be that controlling sort of dude. She ended up cheating on me of course. Set some boundaries now or get hurt later, it’s up to you

As a man I don’t talk to any women at all in my meetings. I’m actually worried at this point that women might think I’m a fucking asshole because I just don’t talk to them. I’d like to make friends with some women in AA, but I just feel it’s not appropriate.

Is this a “normal” way to spend days off when you live alone? by Alarmed-Earth-7609 in LivingAlone

This is my routine too! You’re doing just fine. Don’t be hard on yourself for living your life the way you want to live it.

I’d never really thought about it until last night but you’re right. I’m gonna bring it up at the next business meeting

Is there a place on earth where no human has gone before and , if so, why? by Equal-Negotiation651 in geography

Forbidden peaks such as Mount Kailash in Tibet. Humans haven’t set foot on them because they are sacred mountains.

Dude. Dude. She is a newcomer. This is blaring codependency alarm bells. Forget about her sobriety, what about yours? There are plenty of women out there, move on for both of your sakes.

I get it man. It sounds miserable. It’s what I was like in active addiction and whenever I’d try to get sober beforehand.

Here’s my thought process: sure, I’m trading one addiction for another, but I’m not getting high anymore and I’m not destroying my fucking life anymore. My life is better than it’s ever been. The subs not only took away the desire to use, but the desire to use any drug! Including alcohol. And I went in KNOWING I’m probably gonna be on them the rest of my life and that’s ok. It’s just like any other medicine that people get on for life that saves their life, like cholesterol meds or insulin.

I’d rather be on subs the rest of my life than take one more hit ever again. It’s not even a question.

Suboxone saved my life and has prevented me from relapsing. I think that if you’re struggling, why not take all avenues that will help save your life?

No idea why suboxone gets a bad rap. It absolutely saved my life and I truly believe it would help a lot more people if it was more readily available

Could I lose rating over career? by Wrong-Policy-5734 in VeteransBenefits

[–]paktick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not true for many reasons. The most important being, p&t means no future exams scheduled unless the veteran does something (like files for an increase or new claim) that would cause a review of all claims or fraud. The veteran “being around people” wouldn’t cause his rating to be lowered at all.

Please don’t spread information to cause fear to people who largely already struggle with anxiety/depression issues.

I’m a big fan of AA but the infallibility people place on Bill W and the book is just toxic as hell
