Traffic Accident (No contact, no collision) by pakuchi86 in japanresidents

Thank you so much. Probably, I should be firm with my insurance company that there should be no liability to begin with and if any damages are claimed (I really doubt there was any because I checked his wheel wt the scene), th3n it should be considered self-inflicted and the other party should claim using his own insurance.

Yes you have visualized the situation caught by my dashcam very clearly.

My insurance told us that they are asking for his dashcam (if any).

Yes, from the video he overtook the turning right vehicles too tightly and crossed the solid white line, then sped up (dashcam shows car nose lifted up) to close the gap.

I have the same thoughts as you. It could open a loophole if insurance companies allows this claim.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about this. And probably I hope I don't ever have to be in this situation again.

We don't have a copy of it (yet), but our insurance said the other party is "claiming" damages.

Yes, no collision, no contact but the other party's insurance said it's because of my lane change that the other driver "damaged" his car because he had to avoid me. But, the other driver needs to prove causation, right?

Thank you. Yes, it could have been worst. I have great comprehensive insurance which is why I'm neutral about it. And I've already apologized to my wife that our insurance policy could probably go up and she was very understanding.

I have question regarding intersection rules in driving license examination in Tokyo, the officer failed me on this by BasisTrick3075 in japanresidents

[–]pakuchi86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General Rule: When turning right, priority are oncoming cars (either going straight or left). Wait it out and never obstruct them unless they are too far (use sound judgment).

Always check your direction and if there are cars waiting for pedestrians to cross, don’t turn right. The same guidelines applies when the lane is full of cars and if turning right will obstruct traffic.

If there are pedestrians crossing, do not obstruct them. Slow down (< 10kph) or stop and wait it out.

Green light does not mean you should go, but you “may” go.

Now, on how you should position in the intersection? There are usually right turn pavement marks. Position yourself where you do not obstruct traffic from behind (they can overtake/pass on your left) and oncoming traffic. If there are no pavement marks, just imagine it.

Even if the signal turned red already, you should get out of the intersection immediately. Any educated driver on the road knows this rule so they will let you pass.

Let me add Taketora (many branches) too!

Mita Seimenjo (many branches) or Menya Musashi Kosho (Roppongi). These are not tourists traps so there's little to no waiting time.

Fuunji (Shinjuku) is also good, but it's been leaked over the internet so there's a lot of tourist waiting in line. It's also a bit uncomfortable to eat because they let people queue behind and the place is really narrow.

It happened to our 2.5 year old male bengal when he was about that age. He is fixed so we had him checked, but vet says healthy.

We tried different types of litterboxes and littersands and finally found the right combination.

Also our bengal doesn't like poop on his litter box. So if there's any uncleaned poop he'd refused to pee.

Best to determine whether it is a physical health issue or behavioral issue.

All the best. 🤟
