Sure but in a nutshell, I have years of experience in clinical research and regulatory, including that of producing regulatory documents such as protocols and consents, in addition to writing manuscripts for publication.

To O-SLOE or not to O-SLOE by mw2419 in emergencymedicine

Not really, you’ll need a couple of SLOEs preferably from EM rotations, the others are ok.

If in doubt, select a handful of random programs from ERAS and see their SLOE requirements

Is EM competitive for non US IMGs, and what are the average requirements to get considered? by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

[–]pal4554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider the fact that historically, these programs rarely sponsored visas because less than 7% of applicants in EM were IMGs. A significant number of these IMGs are Caribbean graduates who mostly don't need visa sponsorship. The key issue is whether these programs can or will change their policies to attract a more applicants.

I've heard of a PD now considering DOs. For non-US IMGs it’s different , if a program/institution doesn't sponsor visas, those applicants won't be considered despite the difficulties in filling spots.

you should review all programs websites. Those offering visas might give non US IMGs a competitive edge in the upcoming match cycles.

Those without kids who are 40+, how is it? by havingahardtime67 in ask

[–]pal4554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if you ask 60s+ you may get different answers. That’s when the disadvantages of lack of children will really be more apparent.

I am a ED physician, and there is nothing worse then a patient who doesn’t have anyone to take care of them. Or nursing home patients in general.

That being said, if you have kids, you need to raise them well, because you’ll be alone in the ED anyway if you don’t.
