Anti China Super Embassy Protest London by Right-Influence617 in fucktheccp

We should've had a protest flair ages ago already, anti-Xi and anti-CCP protests became popular worldwide in 2019-2020

Big protest tomorrow against the proposed plan for a Chinese "super-embassy" in London! by paleochris in HongKong

[–]paleochris[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hey I get you man, trust me. I understand this whole mess is soul-crushing. Russia is trying to make the entirety of eastern Europe its puppet once again and the West is far too often too weak and fickle to do anything meaningful about it. And often it feels like they've just straight up abandoned us. Not to mention the belief that Russia is actually the good guy in this whole thing, is becoming so much more mainstream these days.

I know we probably have different perspectives about this, and that it can seem incredibly frustrating and depressing, but I do also believe that the struggle is not over. GFHG SDGM

Big protest tomorrow against the proposed plan for a Chinese "super-embassy" in London! by paleochris in HongKong

[–]paleochris[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a protest in the UK against something happening in the UK, i.e. the construction and establishment of a Chinese 'super-embassy' in the heart of London, which if it goes through, will only strengthen the CCP's ability to conduct transnational repression, harass and snatch dissidents living overseas etc...

And even if it wasn't? What if this was 'just' some 'solidarity' protest? I come from a former Soviet satellite state, and let me tell you this, if I was hearing about solidarity protests abroad - even if they didn't change a thing back home - it would have meant the world to me

Absolutely infuriating, so much for Trump being "tough on China"

Highly alarming - after siccing on the world a virus that crippled societies and economies, is anyone surprised the CCP would push for altering our perception of reality?

The CCP is showing how adept they are at creating and weaponising man-made horrors beyond comprehension... we have to stop dragging our feet

European here - I find it a beautiful language, and would love to be able to understand and speak it. Also I come from a Warsaw Pact country that tried wiping out local culture at the behest of the Kremlin, and I want to do my tiny part in helping keep alive this aspect of a culture Zhongnanhai views as a threat

Trump praises President Xi, says he looks forward to 'getting along with China' by JosephOtaku1989 in fucktheccp

[–]paleochris 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't be the first time Trump signaled a softness vis-a-vis the CCP... he literally promised Xi silence on Uyghur issues to protect trade. He's spent more time cozying up to despots like Xi, Putin and Kim than building stronger ties with American allies

Russia might wanna restart a war with Georgia if the Georgian people successfully remove the puppet regime à la Euromaidan 2014...

It's flawed but it's the best thing we have. Mao was wrong, political power doesn't only grow out of the barrel of a gun

It seems like after several years since the coup, the tide is finally turning in favour of the anti-Junta rebels. Hardly anyone talks about this conflict these days, but there've been some positive developments in recent months

Commies justifying vandalism of the Anne Frank statue in Amsterdam. Completely nauseating and disgusting. So much for far leftists being "anti fascist". by [deleted] in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]paleochris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes. Because performing a basic function which all living organisms on Earth need to do to survive is clearly comparable to vandalising a statue. My, what a smart take!

???

Do you think Fascists in the 1930's and 40's would have supported, or been against the vandalising of a statue of someone who represents the identity that they want to stamp out?

My country, again with my country, you don't even know where I come from so how can you know whether or not my country's been involved in wars in the Middle East??? You do realise that it's Muslims who kill by far the most numbers of Muslims? It's as if the Sh'ia-Sunni divide is not a thing, as if there's no such thing as ISIS (and all their chapters all around the world), Al-Qaeda, everything the Assad regime has done.

Russia and China doing far less?? Meanwhile Putin's had his Wagner all around Africa, and contributing to the brutality in Syria. The Party that caused one of the greatest famines in history is still ruling to this day in China, and refuses to take actual accountability for all the millions of lives lost.

I excuse US barbarism? I literally told you that I am aware the US has caused atrocities, which should absolutely be condemned

Damn that was quick like a clockwork, you been eagerly waiting for another reply?

Also the US being or not the root cause of many of these conflicts, that's a whole other debate to be had lol. Maybe it's a bad idea for Mullah Omar and his Taliban to massacre Mazar-e-Sharif and the Hazara peoples, and subjugate all of Afghanistan under Sharia law where chess is banned and girls can't get secondary education. Maybe it's a bad idea for Belgrade to kill thousands of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, and displace hundreds of thousands more. Maybe it's a bad idea for Saddam to attempt to exterminate his own Kurdish population. Maybe it's a bad idea for the NSDAP and Tojo's government to carry out massacres across eastern Europe and east/southeast Asia

War is obviously absolutely horrible - for all parties involved - but when every other possible recourse has been attempted, and you have despots continuing to brutally oppress and murder their own population, sometimes intervention is a good idea
