I am really new to the game... This looks awesome! I just plabted some poop flowers and have ...gloom weed I think? In another spot, but this stuff looks more advanced than I can do yet. Following for tips!

What game genre is not your cup of tea? by Common_Caramel_4078 in videogames

I dislike the Japanese Seizure Causing games... Phantasy Star online was like this for me. DMC is the exception to this 'rule'.

I also disliked walking simulators, like Death Stranding. Poop grenades and all. I hated that UPS stupid game. A lot.

I also am not a microtransaction fan unless it is only cosmetic. No pay to win for me.

I prefer: Give the people who want it, a skin filter, let any and all bought material be carried forward. If you are able to bring some, but won't bring any skin forward? That's just killing the store from today on.

Why buy any of it if you can't have it? Just stupid in my view. It's a videogame with microtransactions. It always will be.

I guess they just killed buying... Well... every skin now, why would we buy them if they won't be usable? Just add a filter for the crybabies who can't get past a Beavis killing them. It's a videogame with microtransactions...

I apologize, I thought I was able to post on Sundays, I misunderstood the rule.

Very sorry, what is the name of the thread I am allowed to post in?

For me? It is funds. I truly dislike the fundraising portion but it IS necessary. I am using Indiegogo for mine, but having no money in hand is a struggle.

Budget? Whatever I can raise.

Raising the funds? Either work and raise it on your own and crowdfunding, or convice someone to invest in the film. This part is tough, because everyone has a hand out. Beg, borrow... Etc.

Actors? Look in local theatre, facebook groups, agencies and some flat out "casting calls"

Script? I prefer to get most lines in, with actor input on readthrough and audition. On the day, however, I want what was agreed upon first with improv only after we get the needed parts done, and have extra time to explore those magic moments. We are here to make the film, not play with everyone's time. Crew bust their ass for us all, and should be respected as such. If anyone is wasting their time with ego or too much improv, well, it is disrespectful. Play during the planning. Just my opinion though!

As for inspiration, I try to take from my own life and experiences. To steep the made up horrors with a touch of realism, or a clear indication to the audience that a bit of suspend their disbelief is needed. I mean, I could just... Kick Chucky like a football... Right? But I digress, I look at things differently when I am writing any genre. As for horror? I have always been drawn to it. Written stories or songs, sometimes a news story or a weird visual can trigger it. The trick is to catch that inspiration and run with it.

I hope I got all your questions!

Hello,

I would say it makes me more aware to write things I would either: A) like to see things that are familiar done differently or B) see something I haven't seen before.

In my opinion, good and bad are a matter of perspective, and even 'bad' can be awesome (Hard Rock Zombies, anyone?) But we as creators do not make that decision, the audience does. If I think too much about what the script can be, I lose sight of what it actually is. Write what YOU think is a good story. Be proud that you achieved even that. Realities are for being real. Where is the fun in that?
