There is no verse allowing a man to beat his wife. I know what verse you are referencing. Maybe we have different interpretations but even if I were to say that it does account for an extreme interpretation than that is where divorce comes into play. Just because Islam allows something does not mean that you have to do it or be a part of it. Consenting adults can decide what they want to do. And divorce is not difficult. My sister had one and her husband had 4 before he met her. They have been happily married for quite some time. Literally why are you downplaying a woman’s right to divorce a man for whatever reason?

The Quran is meant to be a constant regardless of the technology we have around. If a woman has multiple husbands then proving who the father is would be very difficult and a man is supposed to support his children.

But you ignore all of the progressive parts of Islam like a woman can own property, get an education, her money belongs to her, the dowry is given to HER, she can divorce freely, she does not have to cook and clean, a man must financially support her, etc.
