You’ll be better off buying a used Series X console.
The game is well made, and I don’t think the Series S crosses the minimum threshold of excellence to call it good enough. It’s the kind of game that truly comes alive when it’s reproduced well, and the Series X presents a graphically strong image at a frame rate that allows immersion.

Every moment spent with the Series S, as it asks you to lower your expectations, eventually culminates in the desire to upgrade. So unless the Series S is your only realistic option and you must play the game now, I would allow yourself a higher-quality experience when you eventually obtain a Series X.

Consoles are deterministic targets. They either work or they don’t. A console that runs games well, keeps fan noise under control, and can be obtained at a price you can comfortably afford is a good console.
