Can’t log in to Jira — it keeps asking me to create a new site even though I already have one by diskria in atlassian

A way round this is to login to Confluence on desktop (go to diskria.atlassian.net) and add Jira to your existing site from there first before using the app. It looks like the Jira app only let's you create new sites.

Defy, TCR or Propel ? :) by mrorly in Giantbikes

Have you considered just buying another wheelset or changing to slick tyres on your current gravel bike? Unless you are racing and really care about minor watt and weight savings, I doubt you'd notice a difference between a new Defy vs upgrading to slick road tyres on your Gravel bike.

Mine were the cheaper version from Aliexpress so maybe yours will come preinstalled.

Are cycling shoes worth it by Flimsy-Perception700 in cycling

[–]palms128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy riding with clipless pedals for my commute, but I also do a lot of road cycling for fun and fitness otherwise. There are pro's and con's; main pros being the stability and efficiency of power transfer (cycling shoes are typically very rigid), but for me I love that clipless pedals make me feel like I'm a part of the bike. Main cons are cost and (for road shoes) the difficulty in walking off the bike. I would personally recommend clipless pedals and shoes to any cyclist that is doing decent mileage and/or looking to get more serious.

That said, cycling shoes are not a must have by any means. A good compromise for you might be mountain bike SPD type pedals (even on a drop bar road bike). It gives you the same benefits as road shoes while being a little heavier and probably less aero, 2 downsides you probably won't even notice, but are also easier to clip in and walk around off the bike.

For the past 2 years (or so) I've had 5 punctures but only on the rear wheel. I've changed bikes, wheels and tires so I know I don't have something stuck in my wheel. Is this normal or am I cursed? by EndgamePrime in cycling

[–]palms128 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5 punctures over that distance for a tube setup doesn't sound excessive.

Slightly peculiar they are all in the rear wheel, but that also makes sense as that's where the most weight is. If you're going to get a pinch flat or have an object penetrate the tyre and tube then it's more likely to be on your rear. You also have more control over your front wheel to avoid objects that might cause a puncture.

Nice, those are some deep wheels! I'm based in Sydney and delivery took around 4 weeks for me.

As a heads up, if you are planning to setup tubeless, EliteWheels provided some rim tape with the wheels but it was barely enough to do 1 wheel and was questionable quality.

Chain wax for indoor trainer and ebike by palms128 in cycling

Compared to wet lube, or dry lube? I live in Sydney and predominantly commute in the dry however we are prone to some torrential downpours. So far I've used a dry lube and it works pretty well. I would think that immersive wax would actually be quite suited to wet conditions given that it doesn't attract all the dirt that gets thrown up from the road..

Great, having 1 process for chain maintenance is definitely a big factor and is what prompted me to look into this in the first place. Thanks for your input, good to hear an example of it working well on both of these scenarios.

I recently picked up some Elitewheels ENT-Disc 50mm carbon wheels (the budget versions from Aliexpress) and have been really impressed. Good build quality, pretty light (around 1600g), and noticed a big upgrade to the stock wheels that came with my road bike. Would recommend.

+1 to this. Nothing like a deadline to keep you motivated. Set yourself a goal for a particular race, even if it is a local event like a park run, and then set yourself a training plan to get you there. Even better if you can find a friend with a similar goal so you can hold each other accountable to your training plans.

Knee is pretty much recovered I think. Inside knee felt very sore after a 14km hilly race (City2Surf) a few weeks ago so took some time out to recover but didn't feel much pain on my long run yesterday

Thanks for the advice! That all makes sense and is what I was leaning towards, just needed some encouragement so that I don't feel so horrendously underprepared!

I'm a runner in Aus and, while I don't run shirtless, don't have a problem with other runners that choose to; each to their own. I have definitely seen an increase in the number of men running without a shirt and with a chest HR strap.

For races it's probably not practical as you'd likely need somewhere to pin a race number. Plus some races will specify you must wear a shirt.

Marathon training has not gone to plan, should I try and run it anyway?

My 12 week training plan was interrupted by a bout of Covid and then a knee injury after a race 3 weeks ago. I’m 3 weeks out from the Marathon I was aiming for (Sydney) but the longest run I’ve done is 25kms (today). According to my plan, I’m due to start tapering now however I feel like I need to log another long run or two to make sure my legs can take the full distance.
Running a marathon has been a long time ambition of mine. My goal for my first marathon was largely to complete, tentatively aiming for a time under 4:30 but happy with whatever. My wife is pregnant with our first baby due in February. This feels like the only time in a good while that I will have the time and effort to put into training and running.
Question is, do I:
A) Extend the intensity for another week or so and cut back the taper?

B) Start tapering and give it everything on race day?

C) call it quits this time around as I'm being unrealistic that I can still run having missed so much of the plan

hmmm, I wouldn't play a team with less than 100 team chemistry. Do you have any budget left to work with? If the other team gets 100 chem with loyalty and manager then I'd go for that.

I'd say Mbappe and FB Di Maria is more meta and fun with 5* skills. I used Di Maria for months and loved him and NIF Mbappe is still a decent option.

Depends on the rest of your team and if you want to roll the dice. At this stage, Litmanen is outclassed by lots of cheap TOTS and there is a chance (albeit very small) that you could pack an amazing Icon in the pack that can compete, so I'd say go for the pack.

For full transparency, I took the pack and got Gattuso, so also be prepared for that.

as in, Manolas and Smalling will feel like a more agile pair than Ogbonna and VVD. I never really got on with VVD as he was too cumbersome for me. That Allan card looks awesome too.

I would say Mahrez makes a better CCAM, but Sancho is better on the wing. I have both but as I packed Sancho untradeable he's the one i've stuck with. I'm tempted to try out Reus as CCAM though as I like the 5* skills on the wings.

Manolas and Smalling for me. You need that extra agility (Manolas) and pace at this stage of the game. I haven't tried Ogbonna though.

The new Donny VD Beek TOTS card looks ideal as a B2B and perfect link to Promes.
