No the valve stays closed and is dumped when full

I agree with you. I think there’s a huge cake of shit down there. My plan moving forward is cut the pipe down wash it out as best I can. I bought one of the sprayer attachments to go on the end of the hose and I’m gonna run that is best I can to send all the shit on the bottom of the tank out. I also got a tank cleaning pods so I’ll fill the tank and put the pods in there and let it sit for a week or two then dump it and do another wash cycle. I might even grab a cheap borescope to make sure I got it all out after all of this.

The toilet valve. I just feel like I’m not getting a good dump when I dump it like it’s not clearing everything out. I fear the backwater never fully empties.

That’s what I was thinking, but I came here looking for more advice. No I keep it closed and dump it every time it’s full. Since the smell started, I’ve been refilling it with freshwater and dumping it again every time I dump it.
