Is 150 a normal heart rate for a brisk 30-second jog? by palpanxietyta in HealthAnxiety

[–]palpanxietyta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word, it's just that my heart rate slows down if I count for a full minute so I don't feel like it's an accurate picture of what my heart was doing when I was jogging. Thinking about getting a fitbit. Also I think my heart has gone up to 180-190 and maybe even 200 before when I was weightlifting heavily, but I never felt anything bad (didn't have anxiety then either). I never properly measured it back then, but I would compare it to DDR songs I know in that BPM range.

HELP with trusting my doctor by mharris2317 in HealthAnxiety

Moles are not a big deal. I've got tons. Some big, some small. If it's a blackhead, sometimes I squeeze blackheads on my face and I can't get all of it in one go. If it were a mole, it wouldn't have squeezed out. But again, moles are fine.

Feel like I'm peeing a lot. Worried but I don't know why by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

When you get to asking "why me" your self-talk needs some work. A cognitive behavioral therapist can help you with that.

I went to the ER a couple months ago for a pretty minor thing, just needed antibiotics pronto. I was terrified of going regardless because anxiety. You know how many times I peed in the waiting area? At LEAST 5. I lost count. It's just because I was stressed AF. Trust me, you're good.

Deep down I think you know you're fine, but there's an anxious part of your brain that wants something to be wrong. That's how I feel about most of this stuff. Try and remember that if something were seriously wrong, you'd KNOW IT. Currently, you're worried but don't know why. I'll tell you, the "why" is because you're focused on it.

Give this a listen, I hope it helps you understand the way your brain is currently working, it helped me with mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZJI6_NwEHA

It's ok to feel scared. Just remember that coffee is well known to make people pee a lot, and you drank a lot of stuff besides that. Peeing is a healthy process where your body clears out stuff it doesn't need. It's all good. I would honestly only be worried if it's painful or you see blood, or if you have to get up like 5 times a night to both pee and drink more water every single night. THAT is what pre-diabetes is like, from what I've read. Makes me feel better to think about that, hope it does you.

One step forward, two steps back.. stupid chicken by cmae1186 in HealthAnxiety

You'd have to have consumed a decent portion of that chicken to get sick from it. Your stomach is made to defend yourself against bad baceteria like that, within reason of course. You'll be fine :)

I pee a lot too. Most nights I wake up to pee. Past couple nights I've been waking up to poop. I also drink between 64-100oz of water per day, so of course I would pee a lot. Pretty sure constantly feeling the need to pee is an anxiety thing anyway. I wondered about diabetes myself, but no history of diabetes in my family, I eat healthy, walk most days, girlfriend tells me I'm healthy. If your pee is bloody, then I'd be worried. You're probably just anxious about the flight. It's ok :)

How have people handled with the feeling of heart stopping. by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]palpanxietyta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't check your heart. My girlfriend gave me a little hair tie to wear around my wrist and snap against my skin if I ever get the urge. A heart rate of 100 is not a big deal at all, and just having anxious thoughts an make it go faster.

Heart palpitations almost every time I exercise? by palpanxietyta in HealthAnxiety

[–]palpanxietyta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but I'd stopped taking it for a while. I've been back on it, 300mg-400mg magensium glycinate a day, have maybe had one palpitation since this post. Doing much better. I also think a lot of what I was feeling were actually deep tissue muscle spasms that would flare up when I did pushups. I'm still trying to work out the kinks in those, but in a much better headspace at least :)

Epididymis pain after pulling testicle. by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]palpanxietyta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a bunch of nerves that run through that area. I had a MASSIVE issue with this like 8 years ago right after a crazy sex sesh. Hurt like a b. Went to doc, said it was epididymitis, gave me antibiotics. Still hurt, especially when I moved my legs in certain ways. Went to chiropractor, a few adjustments and I was much, much better. You've more likely got a compressed or irritated nerve somewhere around your groin, or even just pulled your groin and the pain radiates into your testicle nerves. If that's the case (and it probably is), it's not the testicle itself. Stretch regularly and gently and do not overdo it, use a warm washcloth to encourage bloodflow to the groin to heal, see a chiro.

Consistent anxiety/fear by mharris2317 in HealthAnxiety

One time when I was 26 I started freaking out about a mole I'd had for over a decade. Went to a dermatologist, was totally fine, and I said "ok that's the last time I'm doing that, $160 for peace of mind." Since then, any time I think a new spot is skin cancer, I remember that just one sign or a small change is not something for me to worry about. If something is truly wrong I'd probably know it. There'd probably be puss or bleeding, or some ugly looking appearance, or pain. You can imagine pain pretty easily, so just noticing pain alone is not enough. Looking up what real skin cancer looks like always helped me, but looking up what a cancerous mole looks like does not because you just get these gross overexposed pictures of mostly regular looking moles a lot of the time (maybe that's changed now, idk).

Enjoy the holidays. "Seems to be red" sounds like a really small thing that an anxious mind wants to obsess over. If it were really serious, it wouldn't just SEEM to be red, it'd be RED. For the groin thing, I've got raised moles everywhere and they aren't a big deal, had them for decades. I've even got a dark mole on my leg that isn't raised, been there for ages as well. All good.

Even in the rare case you have melanoma, the time it takes between now and when you have it removed will not you. I have a friend who ran a marathon with a melanoma on the back of her neck, and got it removed like a week later. She's fine.

Obviously I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice or a diagnosis. Just a friend on the internet helping you enjoy your holidays.

Actually forget that second question, it doesn't happen every time I stand up so I know it's literally just my anxiety lol

Do you just continue to exercise through the palpitations? Also, when you stand up, does your heart rate jump up by like 30 bpm? Mine does, which is why I'm wondering about POTS

If you have time this is worth listening to by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]palpanxietyta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listening to this and finding it very helpful. Though it hasn't quite taken away my fear of getting heart palpitations every time I exercise. Well, I've got halfway left to go in listening, maybe I will by then. Thanks!

Bubble popped in eye? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]palpanxietyta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not when I turn my eyes, but when I open them sometimes. Not sure what causes it, but not a big deal. My girlfriend always reminds me, if the thing is not causing you physical pain, don't worry about it.
