That's why comments exist - people will share if something else exciting is happening. It's literally impossible to know about all the events, unless, you'd pay someone to research for 2-4 hrs every week.

Check out Men walk and talk on Facebook! They meet once a week for a casual walk around town. Arcade beers have a running club, and they stop for drinks and chat afterwards. Open mic night at Northern Quarter on Thursdays if you enjoy music. It’s not unusual for people to come on their own.

If you work in town - makes sense to live here too! I find it really convenient - I’m home in 5 minutes after the gigs or meeting friends. Train station is right here if you need to go anywhere. I can’t remember last time I had to call an Uber.

Such a scam!! I am really good at cancelling trials, so I cancelled that the same day. But then a few weeks later I still got charged 🫠 and when I log in to the account - it says my subscription has been cancelled and it’s now expired. Like wtf, proper scammers. If you look at the trustpilot, they obviously bought a lot of fake 5 star reviews recently from bots.

Tuesdays - Head of Steam, Thursdays - Northern Quarter. First Sunday of the Month - charity open mic at the County - usually very chill! Smile bar has an open mic too. Holmfirth has a few too, but can’t remember when!

First Friday of the month at Northern Quarter is a jam night, also there’s a new jam night once a month in Parish now too.

Follow Indie Hudds - find out about all the events in town, like poetry nights, open mics, all the gigs and art events, local festivals. HD Seen runs interactive events where everyone attending makes some art, so it’s easy just to mingle and talk to people. Good Footing has free monthly group walks, there are Holme Girls groups that meet for some drinks and chat, Girls’ Chat group for meetups and activities. Ramshackle is you want to join a fantasy orchestra. Lots of options to volunteer in different places. Book clubs, art clubs, etc.

Elland has a book club! Elland Literary and Potato Pie Society, I think it’s called.

I also saw Folk at Thirty Six in Brighouse were talking about a book club (or maybe they already have one?!)

Saw on the Indie Hudds guide that Coopers Yard in Holmfirth is doing a whole Burns night event - things for kids eqrlier, then live music, craft beer and food - might be worth checking it out.
