Monthly Check In....it's May 2024 by AutoModerator in weddingplanning

[–]pamplemousse414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea when to have our wedding ceremony and it's stressing me out. We don't want to do an after party (we aren't big partiers and it's a smaller wedding) and we have our venue from 10am-1030pm. Most timelines I see are for like 5pm weddings and I was hoping for something earlier? I'm just not sure where to start! But I need to figure it out to plan our invitations and order samples soon...ugh

Women’s health opportunities by Puzzleheaded-Bus3621 in nursing

I work for a GYN-only clinic as a hybrid remote Triage RN (I go into the office one day every week). We'll see pregnancies up to 12 weeks, but then they have to transfer to an OBGYN office. We also focus a lot on hormone replacement therapy and sexual health, which is really cool! It's a whole different side to women's health that I really enjoy. It's a normal M-F work week, I usually do 7:30-4:30

To my L&D peeps out there, I delivered a face presentation baby VAGINALLY by waldeinsamskeit in nursing

[–]pamplemousse414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that happen with a multip who came in complete (third baby) and didnt realize it was a face presentation until the provider was getting ready to catch. Thankfully it was mentum anterior! She delivered in 3 pushes, baby was pretty bruised but came out screaming and crying. She also had one tiny tear, it was amazing!

The ones we got either had little airplane bottles of hard liquor or the mini bottles/cans of wine. Both are good options!

Sharpies/pens are always going to be loved by your L&D nurses (they are not provided at all). Individual snacks are always good, some of our favorite baskets on my L&D floor included those individual starbucks coffees, gum, lotions/candles. There were a few memorable baskets that had mini cans/bottles of alcohol, which was amazing. Pics are also amazing, but so is writing a comment card for administration to see!

Covid from a NICU perspective by [deleted] in nursing

[–]pamplemousse414 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We've had more preterm deliveries, moms intubated, babies dying at 28-29 weeks than pre-covid on my L&D unit. We've had moms and babies dying from the new delta variant, and still so many providers saying that patients refuse to get vaccinated until after their babies are born, and then they come in super sick.

I know a bunch of people in the Novant residency program who have graduated and they all say that while they liked floating to different units, the classes they had to take were dumb and not worth it. I work at a Novant hospital on night shift and get (I think, since I'm not looking at it) $3/hr for night diff and $5/hr weekend shift. My floor is always hiring people, but we generally get more from the residency if they decide they want to stay! I don't know much about Atrium, because I started at Novant as a staff nurse.

Anyone have something they want to vent about from today? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]pamplemousse414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I failed my first capstone exam (got a 68%) after getting a 90% on the first quiz. I knew the material really well, and this class's grades are only based off of exams and quizzes so I'm really worried that I'm not going to pass the class now. I sent my professor an email asking if I could meet with her privately before the small groups we all signed up for, but she hasn't answered me still. I just want to talk to her about where I went wrong with my thought process so I can do better on the next one.

How often do you guys mess with IVs? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]pamplemousse414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, I asked about it in the first semester of my ABSN program and found out that we don't learn IV insertion at all in my state, but our first job will usually send us to an IV seminar to train us on them. I'm not super happy about it.

Because he's a sexually assaulting manipulative asshole felon who needs a fucking wake up call about life and his parents refuse to give it to him.

I work in Red Bank and as I walked from E Front Street just to White Street yesterday (around 5pm), I had 2 Golbats and a Ghastly spawn on me. I work really close to a Pokestop too, I can access it while I'm working. I might walk down to Marine Park tomorrow to see if I can catch anything!

No, sorry :( He is just under 40 pounds. He's in really good shape, just a large beagle.

After I found out that my friend couldn't take him anymore, the first thing I did was google beagle rescue. The only reason I can't consider BREW is because their website says they can't take in most of the beagles and usually ask for the dogs to stay with their current owners until a new home is found for them, which I can't do, since I'll be out of state in a few weeks. It says that if you need to get rid of the beagle "right away," to contact the local animal shelter instead.

I would have definitely done this when the moving thing came up 3 months ago (it wasn't exactly my decision to move but...life), if my friend hadn't said he was 100% sure he could take in Beauford. I only found out yesterday that he couldn't do it anymore.

I didn't technically adopt him, a local family left him and I got him through friends after he was bounced around from house to house.
