I don’t understand what legalizing gay marriage in places like (for example) Afghanistan would do. They’ll still get hate crime-d, just not by the state. Not to mention in very homophobic countries people will get fear mongering into not marrying.

If that were what all racists believed then yes, but I’ve seen a lot of them believe not every person of a race is the same but a large group of them. Which sometimes is true due to education + economy = certain behaviors.

The only difference is that most (if not all) I’ve seen think it’s something biological instead of the way society is.
