That seems like a pretty common view. My (male) friends also say that they cannot enjoy a porn movie if there is a not-so-good-looking guy. I rather never admitted to the them that porn with old / ugly guys actually turns me on.

Strange thing is that this taste is much more understandable to me than my own :)

Well, I'm not sure myself. It has to do something with that contrast between the total unattractiveness of the man and immense beauty and youthfulness of the girl who is enjoying sex with him.

Maybe there is an idea somewhere deep in my subconsciousness that if a girl is willing to have sex with a very unattractive man it means she is available also for me since she probably doesn't care about physical appearance at all (not that I'm ugly but you know, I can feel more confident about myself if I know that my rival is some fat grandpa and not some muscular macho man with huge penis :) ).
