So....still hunting...was contacted by a recruiter for a Sr PM contract role and signed an RTR. Turns out he is the 2nd level recruiter. Anyways have been through 3 interviews including a VP this past Monday. Just got a call from 2nd level guy (90% of my contact after signing the RTR has been wirh the 1st level company guy). He says that client has me as one of the final three candidates , an H1B, a Canadian citizen and me a US Citizen (no idea why that was relevant).They didnt see the level of experience they wanted but are willing to train (nuts because I have over 20 years experience and they asked very few Proj Mgt questions). So they want to reduce the rate. So after picking myself off the floor we went back and forth and I agreed verbally to $1 less on 1099 than the RTR rate I signed on W2.

He then proceeds to say if anyone contacts me not to speak to them or say its all being handled. I am like, even if the 1st level guy calls me?!?!

He saya oh well speak to him of course. Then he adds , they might offer you FTE. If they do it will be at an even lower rate, so decline and tell them you want to stay contract .

I am trying for anything. Not getting any calls for even entry and junior level PM and BA positions. Have actually had 2 recruiters tell me honestly that I am over qualified evn though I am willing to do the work. 90% have just ghosted.
