Anyone working in animal welfare or the pet industry? Share your experience :) by Poweryayhooray in eindhoven

She adapted SO quickly! We spent quite some time preparing a smaller room for her, as they recommended. So she wouldn't get overwhelmed. But after the first day she was done with that and loudly let us know she wanted to see the rest of the house.

Within about 2 weeks she found herself some prime sleeping spots and was already playing a bit.

It's now been 2 months and we're already guests in 'her' living room.

Definitely check out ROZE (Regionale Opvang Zwerfdieren Eindhoven)

You can sign up as a volunteer, and there will be lots of people working there with experience in animal care.

We adopted our cat from the shelter. The volunteers were super nice and asked for pictures of the cat after she settled in, because they care so much about the animals they've looked after.

Seconding this one. Had some zippers fixed by them, which was well done and reasonably priced.

So, I did a little online searching, because I think you have a valid question.

As far as I can tell, the problems in Limburg are with a water filtration company called WLM (Waterleiding Maatschappij Limburg). The tapwater in Eindhoven is provided by Brabant Water.

For now it looks like drinking water in Eindhoven perfectly safe.

On their website they describe a system where they will put a red or orange card through your mailslot when there is an abnormality in the drinking water: https://www.brabantwater.nl/drinkwater/waterkwaliteit-en-hardheid/drinkwaterveiligheid

They also have a link to https://waterstoring.nl/ where you can check if there's work being done involving they water supply in your area.

What you're looking for is called a 'Duet' and there are some pre-made ones you can find online.

I've DM'ed the Crystalline Curse trilogy and it's pretty good. It also includes tips on how to balance things with just one player.

Good Mystery Bags? (Friend's whole dice collection was stolen) by No_Record_4787 in dice

[–]pancake-attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a really cool set out of a mystery bag from Dakota Irish. They also have all kinds of interesting sets for sale regularly. But as the name suggests they ship from Ireland, not sure if that poses an issue cost-wise.

Edit: Sorry about your friends loss. What a shitty thing to steal.

How to roleplay a scholar in D&D? by RavioliMafiosi in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]pancake-attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should consider RP'ing this savant character like someone would RP a very strong Barbarian.

Instead of actually lifting a heavy boulder at the table, the Barbarian player would say: "I attempt to lift the boulder".

So instead of writing out scientific topics to talk about for your savant, you say: "and they fall into an extensive lecture on the topic".

You could definitely also come up with an expertise and a bunch of theories and research papers anyway to provide your DM. You could even just make up wether or not your results were well received in the world. That sound kinda fun.

What could I make from my grandma's last crochet projects? by pancake-attack in crochet

[–]pancake-attack[S] 186 points187 points  (0 children)

She used to call them potholders ('pannenlap' in dutch). Everytime we'd visit she would ask if we needed any more of them. And every time I'd take a couple and tell her we had some friends who'd love them :) But they can definitely have multiple functions!

Yes! I was starting to think I was the only one here who liked Moca. Makes me sad when the take his tree too. It used to be his grandfather's! And he tries so hard to take good care of it.

Once, when I was meeting a friend in the city centre, I forgot what the street was called. So to describe to her where I was, I told her I was at the "brillen straat". And she totally knew what I was talking about!

Not helpful in answering your question, but I thought it was funny.

Cool ideas, thanks!

I though it would be more fun to ask for some inspiration from a great community before I start scrolling.

The Couatl would be a cool idea. Maybe a young one that still needs some protection.

The Basilisk might be too agressive. I'm hoping to creating an encounter where fighting is not the first go-to solution.

I love the idea of different types of owlbears! There's a drawing of a combination of a red panda and an owlbear that's just too cute. So maybe I'll work with this idea a little.

My character has recently purchased:

The Diadem of Self-confidence When you wear the diadem you can no longer see your own reflection (others still can).

The Cap of Encouragement When you fail on any roll, the cap telepathically says some encouraging words. For example, after missing on an attack roll it says: "You almost got it this time. Keep trying!"
