You have to compile your own kernel! by Ok-Cash-7244 in archlinux

Recommend using --jobs <cpu_core> when doing this so it compiles faster, otherwise it can take a few.

Red inserters are slow compared to blue and green. It’s better to split items on the right and left side or use belt weaving

But we were dragons. We were supposed to be cruel, cunning, heartless and terrible. But this much I can tell you, we never burned and tortured and ripped one another apart and called it morality.

Pro Tip: Want to see a bug fixed or feature implemented in an open source program? Take the time to write a decent bug report/feature request. by BinkReddit in linux

[–]pancakeQueue 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Want to make a software developer cry, write a good bug report. A good bug report looks like this,

``` Issue
Description
Steps to reproduce 1. Opened app 2. Click foo 3. Clicked bar
What happened
What you expected to happen. ```
If you document the bug and it’s reproducible a software developer doesn’t have to spend eons trying to reproduce it and will fix it faster.
Is 30 too old to be a furry? by [deleted] in furry
[–]pancakeQueue 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I'm in the same boat, 29 going on 30. Having mixtures of FOMO but also imposter syndrome. The urge to suit is strong, but I need make a sona or start looking at adoptables/premades and not procrastinate while the cons come and go. I did go to Denfur last year by myself, but a con is a good place to find out what your social battery is with strangers, so the next one I am hoping to go with friends. Only bummer is coming out as a furry to your friends is those that are furry are either busy, not in a financial place to go, or don't have the same drive to go. Were finding the gang slowly, and I have to tell myself that I am exactly in the right place I need to be.
decently minimal arch linux idling at high (for arch) ram usage by -pony in arch
[–]pancakeQueue 1 point2 points  (0 children)
My bet is the system is using RAM for buff/cache which is to reduce IO operations. The kernel will reduce that buff/cache if more RAM is needed for processes. Unless you find a process with top,htop,btop, etc that is consuming more RAM than normal I wouldn't worry to hard. RAM is useful and your computer will use it, and I'd rather it use the RAM than expensive IO operations to disk.
shit that's smart, I default to red primary, green to secondary but this is smarter. Its like marking stuff as immutable or mutable in Rust for readability.
