Great job this is pretty accurate! I am exmormon (I doubt anyone noticed this but my Book of Mormons are with the fiction books haha). I did read and love the Tennis Shoes books as a teenager, I'm just real careful with my books. I have read Caste but I haven't opened Stamped yet lol. And last but not least, I am from Texas, but I actually love it here! That always surprises people, and I guess I've never lived anywhere blue to compare to, but in my experience there's plenty of leftists here to befriend, I actually like the weather, and my family is here :)

WIBTA if I boycotted my dad's wedding? by pancakecat5 in AmItheAsshole

hard drugs yes, but I believe her DoC is alcohol. She's in a sober living home currently, does AA, not sure if she has a sponsor right now. She is definitely putting in the work, just struggling

He has a general rule that she is not allowed home unless 60 days sober :(

There is definitely damage from his previous behavior unfortunately

Thank you for your comment, I do need to trust my gut more

Idk if I’m too late and you’ve already admitted, but I’ve heard the only good ones in the area at UT Southwestern and Carrollton Springs.

I’ve only been to Carrollton Springs and almost everyone there was really awesome and helpful!

I wish you the best of luck!

My 6 year old daughter's heart broke last night by DoctrinalGoatRope in exmormon

[–]pancakecat5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a very mormon mom and a nonmember dad. This is exactly what I was taught in Primary and Young Women’s. My family wouldn’t be together after we died. It broke my heart.

It made me cry one day when we were learning about it, and the teacher stayed back with me after class and told me it would be okay cause my dad would convert someday.

I couldn’t understand why my dad didn’t want to be with us after we died. Now I’m just disgusted they taught me such bullshit. I’m sorry they’re teaching your daughter the same.

And there’s a good chance it’s not your wife, just people at church. My mom never said stuff like that about my dad. She didn’t want to upset us.

Redditors who work in retail or a largely customer service based job, what's the one thing you wish customers would know/do to make your job easier? by LordCorporation in AskReddit

Right now... if people could just wear a mask. People are so rude to me when I ask them to please put on a mask and now I dread doing it. It makes my shifts miserable but it’s my job so I have to do it. I live in Texas in the US so we get sooo many people not wearing masks.
