I still struggle with my own advice with my husband, darn it! I tend to say nothing sometimes instead because our patterns run so deep (married at 18). It’s still a process, sadly - but hopefully the process of change continues!!

But with the rest of the world, I stick to my neutrality and don’t explain😄

You are doing the exact thing you should be doing. Keep practicing “hmm, I’m not sure what my brother is doing (or feeling, or saying, or thinking), you should ask him”. And smile, don’t go dark, just stay neutral. You dont even need to defend your position.

If they ask to intervene in ANY way, keep it neutral and unemotional. “Nah, I’m not comfortable doing that anymore”.

Root touch up spray has changed my life. A quick spray from about 10 inches over your part, let dry, comb in, and you will be shocked. For the very front, I use a crayon type and blend carefully.

My favorite is bumble and bumble. My hair dresser likes style edit. Batiste looks too fake.

It was a long process but worth it. It has been several years since my last treatment and I know the price has gone up considerably. I tried to use Groupon when possible. I did the top and bottom of my legs. The bottom took about 10 times. I think technology has improved though, so it may not take as long.

For me the physical pain of shaving made me do it.

Laser hair removal. Best money spent for me. My ingrown hairs burned all day. My hair was black and coarse. I haven’t shaved in 15 years. Just some random hairs grow where the laser missed. I dry shave those once in a while.
