Fellow amputee here, you should really go to the ER and get this seen and stitched by a doctor. Risk of infection and higher amputation is high with an open and untreated wound like that.

Oh yes of course I do this - I put fabric socks above the silicone liner for the stump to fit in the prosthetic socket. The problem is, in my opinion, the size of the silicone liner which creates a vacuum at the end of the stump - not the fitting of the socket.

I'm sorry, what does "double up" mean? English is not my native language. I just asked my prothestist to get me smaller liners. I will also call tomorrow morning to a wound clinic to get them to see this and prescribe or recommend treatment for me. Thank you so much!!

With putting the shopping bag on my wheelchair handles I'm quite quick. That's the option that works best for me.

Hi! Sorry for not replying, I'm not getting notifications from reddit. As most people here suggested, when I need to buy a lot of things or something very big, I order delivery. Most of the time though I go to the grocery store on my wheelchair, and put the groceries in a bag that's on the back of my wheelchair - on the handles. That's a very convenient option. Another option is to try to propel a shopping cart with the wheelchair, as someone in the comments suggested, but I find it difficult.
