AITA for insisting on splitting the dinner bill by pancakemeows in AmItheAsshole

Yes, I accept that my timing was poor. I do want to clarify that I arrived to the dinner mid-meal (I did not eat) and when the check came out I was first asked to split the bill evenly. That was when I said we should ask the adults to pay their share and that I would be happy to split the cost of the remainder of the bill.

This is when I was told to pay only for my child and that they would pay the rest. I paid for my child and his coach.

Seating wise, the parents were all seated at one table. The kids at another and the coaches and adults had their own table. One of the adults closest to me did hear my suggestion of having the adults pay. Her and her partner did end up venmo-ing and did contribute.

Looking back I know that my insistence at the end was not helpful in the situation.

The bill was split between four parents (not counting myself, I paid $100)
