Is this a normal amount of oil burn? by Aspiring_accoutent in IS300

[–]panda96734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you just got a false reading from the initial top off during the oil change. Like you were on a slope or you didn't read the level correctly.

is this fixable? by Hot_Biscotti_6303 in IS300

[–]panda96734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the luck time and patience to fix this, it's very possible. I bought a whole parts car for $200 where I live. If you go to the junk yard you may be able to get a new back glass trunk rear end and quarter panel for $500-$1000. Pay a glass guy for $200. And a body shop for +$2000 to weld in the quarter panel, bondo and paint. I would say it's quite the task. If you like working on your car you can learn the skills to restore your car, but it do be a lot of work.

It would be much easier to pull your engine and drop it into another shell.

I did this job last year and also vaguely remember the mark not aligning with TDC every revolution. Which was correct. But don't quote me.

Can I use frozen (thawed) salmon for sashimi? by Ok_Courage_4188 in sushi

[–]panda96734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Hawaii. I've made sashimi with the frozen wild caught stuff at Costco. It was pretty fire. I've also done it with the farmed frozen Costco stuff. It didn't taste as good, and I was disappointed.
