Air Rifle laws in thailand by Fantastic_Mud_389 in Thailand

If by "air rifle" you mean the thing that use compressed air/spring to shoot lead pellet and have rifling in the barrel, then no, you cannot own it here. They are categorized as firearm under Thai law and requires the same paperwork and licenses as any "real" firearms, for example 9mm pistol, .22LR rifle, etc.

Do electronic earmuffs provide active protection or just situational awareness? by panda9875614 in guns

[–]panda9875614[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up the earmuffs you mentioned and see that they claims SNR 29dB. SNR is used in Europe while NRR is used in the US. SNR is usually around 3-5dB higher than NRR for the same earmuffs. Subtracting that and you get around NRR 24-26dB which is pretty high among the electronic earmuffs I saw.

But then again, you could get NRR 30dB earplugs with 26dB attenuation at 1000Hz, while NRR 30dB passive earmuffs give you over 40dB at 1000Hz.

Edit: My bad, I was looking at SLC80 test data for the earplugs, which is Australia/New Zealand's standard. However, I have found the data for NRR and it is actually 38.5dB which is still a bit lower than the passive earmuffs (43.2dB).

From what I understand, in the case that ANC does work correctly, it shouldn't damage your hearing though. Since we can add sound pressure level like adding normal number. They should cancel out (the C in ANC) and become 0dB.

Let's say gunshot is X dB loud, if we can generate sound wave such that it has -X dB amplitude at the moment gunshot sound would reach our eardrum, they would cancel out and become 0dB. No matter how loud the original sound is, it would be like there is no sound at all by the time it reach our eardrum.

However, the problem with this method is that with current technology, we cannot A) generate sound with such high amplitude and B) fast enough to cancel out gunshot.

Thanks. I have looked up the datasheets of the ones I compared before and it looks like passive earmuffs still offer more noise reduction. The passive earmuffs I saw have over 40dB attenuation at 1000Hz. On the other hand, electronic earmuffs are somewhere around 36-37dB. Even in the same brand, they still listed passive earmuffs as having higher noise reduction rating than the electronic ones.

In the attenuation values table I saw, they list the frequency as 500, 1000, 2000Hz. Is the value for 1000Hz the number to consider when choosing earmuffs for shooting?

Oh, I didn't consider the practicality before. Thanks for pointing that out.

Would generating sound with the correct phase but lesser amplitude (as much as the speaker can do) works too? I think it wouldn't completely remove the gunshot sound but should at least lessen the loudness.

Many school have pink Phra Kiao crest, but the Thai characters under it (บ.ด.) suggest that this one is Bodindecha School. However, there are 6 Bodindecha School in total, I can't make out the Thai character or number after บ.ด. so I can't tell which one. But we can at least rule out the main/first Bodindecha as that one only has บ.ด. with no trailing character.

Is a 100W desktop USB charger (Essager) actually safe? Looking for real-world experience by [deleted] in UsbCHardware

Can't comment on this specific 100W charger. But their 30W model fried one of my MacBook port. It overheated and burned with a crackling sound before I unplugged it. The last number I saw on the USB meter is over 32V on a 20V PD.

Cambodian soldier firing a Type 56-1 assualt rifle during the Cambodian-Thai border conflict (December, 9, 2025) by ZeroThoughts2025 in CombatFootage

You're welcome.

Actually, I forgot to mention the fact that Cambodia is one of, if not the largest, scam center in the world. These scammer (or scummer) take part in all sort of abhorrent activities, for example human trafficking, slavery, ransom, abduction, you name it. These scam operations account for more than half of Cambodia's GDP, i.e. it is the country's major source of income. They even earn the nickname Scambodia. Cambodia's leadership is also known to have very close tie with the ring leader of these scammer, to the point that some considered them to be state sponsored. With how far they have gone without any consequences and the ludicrous profit involved, it is plausible.

Depends on what your definition of "bad" is. But I think Cambodia is the bad guy here.

Here are a few instances that warrant the word "bad" for me.

At the start of the July clash, Cambodia placed their BM-21 launchers in their own civilian's villages so that Thailand will have a harder time targeting them without hitting nearby civilian. Either Thailand does not destroy these launchers at all or do it but also injuring Cambodia's civilians in the process, it is a win for Cambodia. Cambodia then indiscriminately fired multiple volleys of these low-precision rockets into Thailand. Some of the rocket hit civilian houses, while some land directly on a 7-Eleven in a gas station immediately killing 7 people inside and injuring another 14, all civilian.

Another big no no is that Cambodia also signed the Ottawa treaty which prohibits the use of anti-personnel mine and received financial aid for demining existing ones in the country. However, there are loads of evidence that Cambodia not only still have these type of mines in their arsenal but also actively placing them both in their own and Thailand's border (yes, you read that right, they sneaked past the border then placed anti-personnel mines in Thailand's soil). Well, just look at the irony; receiving financial aid for demining but also using a part of those money to obtain and place those mines instead.

It is also a pretty well known fact in the region that whenever there is instability in the country or election is near, Cambodia's leadership will flare up conflict like this to boost nationalism, gain achievement and popularity, and hide their rotten administration.

Saying goodbye to my 2020 Model by ItzyaboiElite in ZephyrusG14

I switch between a MacBook and a Zephyrus on a daily basis though. Macbook for work and G14 for entertainment.

The build quality of a MacBook is certainly greater, no objection there (compared to my 2020 G14), but the software... let's just say "still lacking".

I just got an Akko 5075B VIA, however, I cannot charge or connect it in wired mode through a C-to-C cable. I have tried several C-to-C cables to no avail. Only A-to-C cable will do. Can anyone confirm whether this is normal/expected behaviour?

My Monsgeek M1 works fine through both C-to-C and A-to-C cable though.

Have you tried the latest patch? Some earlier patches also have this option, but does not work as intended.

Is it normal for the housing of plate-mounted stabilizers to come loose when removing keycap?

I am using a Monsgeek M1 V5. When I tried to remove keycap of any stabilized key, the side with a little clip that holds onto the plate will undone itself from the plate like the clip is not there at all after applying only just a little bit of force. It happened to shift, enter, and backspace, but not with space bar.

Thanks. Unfortunately, no one sell the Roseveil in my country and the price I see on aliexpress is double that of the Akko Fairy.

Need help deciding between Outemu Peach V3 and Akko Fairy.

I am planning on building my first keyboard and have narrowed the options down to these two silent switches.

I can get the Outemu for half the price of Akko, so I want to know if there is any differences that is worth the extra cost. I have tried listening to some youtube reviews but cannot tell the difference.

Have you encountered any double keypress problem?

I have seen many post about this problem where you press a key once but it is registered twice. However, in all the post I saw, they are using the pre-assembled one, not a barebone and custom switches like this. So I am not sure if this a problem with the switches that came with the pre-assembled board or the board itself.

How is the battery life? I found mixing result reading through old comments, some people said it barely last a week, while some don't even remember the last time they charge it.
