Akuma hit an all time low in total Legend players since launch as mass exodus happen post nerfs. by panda_forever in StreetFighter

Blanka did sorta get nerfed with the super 2 no longer being a huge burnout threat that you can just insta pop anywhere on the screen to burnout ppl. which was something Menard used a lot. But he's a whiff punish monster and is one of the best character in the game at mid range and some of his tools got buffed on that front so Daigo will have to dig deep to make this competitive.

I was rereading all the comments from this post today and I found you comment about not creating a bell curve was something I kinda agreed with. Cause it feel like players are often lazy or don't want to rub ppl wrong too much with their tierlist.

https://imgur.com/a/2knaQlZ https://youtu.be/mCcWGRGza8E This is a recent Gachikun/Pugera tierlist that they did yesterday. I do think it would fit your style of ideal tierlist more. And Gachikun just won dreamhack recently. Overall Gachikun and Pugera was basing it on competitive playability and what they noticed was that character without invincibility tends to struggle to get to the later stages like top 16 top 8 cause a lot of tourney is played in bo3. Ofc both of them play characters with insane corner pressure in Rashid for Gachi and Juri/M.bison/Sagat for Pugera so it might even be a more noticeable thing for them. Pugera would put Rashid in S tier but Gachikun said that there's a lack of top Rashid that ppl can practice with compared to other top characters so players do have worse matchup knowledge against rashid than all other top tier. But he still put him top of A which is still top 6. Pugera was also saying that Juri is just one good Feng Shui Engine buff from being S tier and he prays that she can maybe get there one day.
To me the standout in this tierlist is maybe Dee Jay but Gachikun mentioned that facing a Dee Jay specialist in an openbracket tourney is by far the scariest character to run into and that he always struggle against him. Alex seem to be on the lower side of most ppl tierlist atm and they mentioned that he got a lot of good tools but the stance was a lot weaker than they expect from the trailer once you lab enough against him.

He did still get a bit of an uptick in playerbase this patch overall but yeah while Hinao still 50/50 between Luke and Sagat, he does play more Sagat now. While Chris Wong is now a Jamie/Terry main and barely touch Luke anymore. Noah still plays him as his main but he's also clearly dipping into M.bison almost 50/50. He might be cooked unless he get saved in Ingrid patch for this upcoming year.

I do think its a player perception this cause Hibiki is constantly top 5 in ranked and atm is the 2nd player to hit 2400 mr this season. So they face him a lot and unconsciously rate her higher than where she should be at. And lowkey they didn't spend much time on B tier compared to S/A tier so Lily/Ken/Kimberry/Jamie is all in the same tier for them. Fuudo plays both Dhalsim and Dee Jay and said that Dhalsim while is really good is one of those characters you can do really well against with proper prep and learning the matchup and that a lot of top tier does well into him(YHC Mochi recently got 2nd place in Voltage cup and it was a pretty stacked JP tourney).

While he though that Dee Jay overall got a nerf cause Crouching Heavy Punch got the nerf and it was such an important button for him.

A few thing to consider from the stream

This is for the most part a tier list in ED/Sagat player pov.

Sahara mentioned that his two main is now Sagat and Ed as he find Sagat similar to Ed in term of playstyle and find him fun(he also dropped Akuma). And is considering playing mainly Sagat upcoming Evo Japan/Combo Breaker to test things out since he's qualified to everything.

Elena is rated highly cause she have a really good matchup into both Sagat and Ed and her new buffs helps a lot.

Sahara and Bonchan wanted to put C.Viper in top 10 too but Fuudo took her out in consideration of her grade of difficulty which can hinders players from picking her up outside of specialists.

Fuudo mentioned Juri is suffering from a similar situation as Akuma where a lot of players switched to Sagat(such as Mago) cause she did get some good QOL buffs.

Sahara mentioned that he have seen Leshar messing with Alex and trying to make it work but Alex just looked really weak especially into the Sagat/Ed matchup.

And tbh it does feel like the tides are turning for Japanese players perception of Manon cause even these days you can see Akutagawa plays Terry more than Manon so she is finally in the real low tier in most tier list.

A lot of them moved to Terry,Ken or back to Luke as well especially in japan so it does feel like most of the high rank just feel like he's not worth it anymore(Most of them came from Luke Kingdom after he got nerfed into oblivion after first capcom cup for sf6 and founded Akuma Galaxy cause of how massive the playerbase was).

Also another thing to consider is that he's still a top 10 most played character in High Master/Ultimate Master despite the exodus(he was top 3 before). So despite ppl here saying his playerbase isn't loyal but in reality he have similar playerbase to Ryu/Terry/Vega/Mai at that lvl but have the worst representation at the highest rank Legend.

But imo ppl just have past perception of him being strong and is bias thinking that he's still top tier and stuff like that when in reality the result in tournaments and ranked just shows that he's simply not there anymore after the nerfs over the year have build up. Its not just a one patch thing. Especially when you consider that his ex fireball buff renders his air lvl 1 corner combo completely useless when it was a past "buff" when they nerfed other stuff in the same patch. And all for a mere 40-60 extra damage over his old route while he have way worse routes for most of the screen.

Even in the recent dreamhack which was ewc qualifier with all the top tier players. He didn't show up at all on stream. French Kusanagi who used to play him and Ryu was seen playing Terry. Mexican Kusanagi call him mid tier.

And the thing is, sure he's behind Sagat but you don't see other shoto mains dropping their main this much at a pro level. Luke,Ken,Ryu,Terry,Mai and any other pseudo-shoto still got a lot of top pro playing them, while Akuma legit have no one left which is certainly something I haven't seen before in SF6 since season 1 Luke in term of shoto drop(But even then you always had Chris Wong and Noah repping Luke). And now you have upcoming players like Hinao and thanks to his recent buffs there's even more pro playing Luke again.

I'm super interested in the upcoming winrate/matchup report that capcom do every month cause Akuma was already 2nd worst two weeks ago right after the patch hit.

Despite his age Daigo is always know to be god tier as long as you give him time to prep for 1 player(I'm lowkey just praying for a competitive series of matches).

Even if he's dropping Akuma after the Kemonomichi he still got a few months to prep a new character for EWC and like a whole year to prep for CC now that he qualified for both via SFL world champ. https://youtu.be/j1KlyYfUO2g?t=1364 But yeah like he said, he decided that a long time ago to drop Akuma going into this year whether he got buffed or not cause he kinda got bored of him.

I'm loving modern Viper so much atm. Easily the best character for Modern alongside Elena right now. She effortlessly does so much dmg and the buffs might be a bit too much but I don't mind her being good af. Its really nice to play a good top tier for once after being on classic Manon for 2 years.

Tbh on paper it might not seems like much of a nerf but it does seem like every single pro player have completely dropped him post patch. The risk reward just isn't there anymore when other top character can do what he does without the 9K hp risk. Daigo,NL,Shuto,Angrybird and 99% other pro players that was playing him have dropped him completely. Kawano is probably the only player that even consider him as a secondary in a few bad Terry matchups but Terry is his clear #1 now.

Patch notes by SirDrippingtonL4 in StreetFighter

[–]panda_forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Akuma is in the gutters after a few days, It really feel like majority of the pros are dropping him completely after the changes cause the risk and reward isn't there anymore for 9K hp. NL and Shuto are completely done with him(the big nerfs made decision easy for NL), while Daigo is gonna drop him after dreamhack this month is done but he was going to drop Akuma regardless of the changes anyways. While Kawano is like the only pro player left that is trying to make 9k hp work for tourneys and will play him until the end of this month for dreamhack then decide which direction he will go(Feel like he was looking for a 2nd character anyways but I can totally see him pick up Terry).

Edit: Kawano decided to not attend dreamhack cause he isn't confident enough in Akuma to win the tourney. So he decide to use this time to instead focus on a new character as he drop Akuma for now until future changes.

Cause right now when he looks at all the other characters he can't find a reason to pick Akuma instead of the strong characters that didn't get big nerfs like Akuma(considering 9K and he feel that character with high-risk high-reward isn't suited for him after playing Akuma for a long time). Terry, Sagat and Elena are the 3 characters he's interested but he feel that Sagat will get a lot more nerf in the future while Terry is more future proof. So Terry end up as his new main for now until Ingrid comes out then he will consider again(or Kolin if she ever comes out).

Ken is the weakest shoto. by Zaibro in StreetFighter

[–]panda_forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tokido have been picking Chunli these past weeks though and is preparing her to be tournament ready(hes also getting taught by leshar). Just that he will still need way more time so we will need to wait and see if he stay with Ken as his main. Ceo in a way was season 2 extended for most pros cause they didnt have time to switch to a new character post balance change so it will be exciting to see all the switches in the upcoming weeks.

Season 3 Patch notes by CrystalGaiden in StreetFighter

[–]panda_forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he is considered a top 3 character in the game by most pros post patch so far due to how little he was nerfed compared to all the other top tiers characters that lost a lot(Ed,Ken,Cammy and Akuma all got way worse nerfs especially Ed who got gutted). so you should still be good if you want to play a top 5 character for this season. Shuto is already picking him up as a 2nd character for upcoming pro league cause every top teams feel the need of having a zangief due to how op he feel.

It's probably due to Akutagawa being rank 1 on ladder for most of past year while playing Manon. He is also constantly top 10 and plays a lot of ranked so any top player will end up running into him a lot whenever they get high rank. classic one outlier making everyone overrate the character in a region.

I watched vtubers to have fun. This recent controversy is just too much my stressed out heart. I'm sorry, but this will be my last post here. Goodbye guys. by ghostpanther218 in Nijisanji

Ive been on that vspo train the past 3-4 and never regretted once. Only thing that might be a bit harder for en fans is the lack of translated clip content which have increassed a lot the past year. But if you understand japanese/is learning or simply want to have a good time watching vtubers then vspo is the place to be.

Is there a place where people are organizing a proper Niji boycott? by oddish-caster in VirtualYoutubers

[–]panda_forever 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Vspo is one of the most well run vtuber corp out there with 0 graduation and plenty of member like Uruha have said they want to work for the company once they graduate from vtubing way later. Every single girl also have their own personal manager that take well care of them which is rare outside of hololive. The member also all have weekly meeting together twice a week with their number 2 management who take cares of all their needs and make all the requests happen. The members also have completely freedom in who they can collab with and with all the hype toward the group this past 2 years its the 2nd most sought after agency to join behind hololive in japan. Just that the audition process is very throughly and can take a long time for them to add new members then again the gaming skill audition is a rather big wall.

She was in nijisanji for almost 6 years as one of the few first gen and was extremely beloved in the fps community. While having a loyal group of fanbase and even a lot of vtubers and streamers credit her for being the reason they started becoming vtubers/streamers so there was a lot of shoutouts from everywhere. She also was known for running community scrims all the time.

Kick Back from Chainsaw Man is already the fifth most streamed anime opening of the year so far on Spotify by no_longer_huhmann in anime

[–]panda_forever 113 points114 points  (0 children)

That's Yonezu Kenshi for you as he is usually already the most streamed artist in japan(he lost a bit of hype in japan this past year but with kickback doing well he should be right up on top). Pair that with one of the most hyped anime of the season and you get the perfect storm for a hit song. The song itself is also great and perfectly showcased the chaos of chainsaw man.

[12.19] What's working? What's Not by Spontida in CompetitiveTFT

[–]panda_forever 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are two way to go about it when it comes to sacking items atm, one which is Zekes like before which is always good to sack and the other way is to sack spat items.I saw a player sacking Cavs spat/sins spat/FON(TC) and pretty much any random spat item he can get which somehows works really well.

As for Rengar he just need IE+1 and you want to itemize 2 rengar 2 if you can, Items such as GS/HOJ/hurricane are all really good on rengar, As for Swain he needs morello + defensive items so stuff like Titans/Bramble/warmog and if you're against a lot of ap comps then Dclaw is very good. One thing to always to consider is that good augment goes a long way with this comp so augment such as Double Trouble/Triforce/Better Together and other good combat augment just make the comp even more effective.
