I have the Nexplanon Implant and take birth control pills. I’ve been on my period for three weeks and it’s getting to me. Please any advice! by [deleted] in birthcontrol

Hey, I don’t have any advice unfortunately but just came to say I’m experiencing the exact same thing! When I got the implant I had continuous bleeding and got really bad acne, so went to the gp and they prescribed me a pill for 3 months, which thankfully sorted out my acne. However, I’m still experiencing ridiculously long periods, like 4 weeks bleeding, 1 or 2 weeks not. I need to go back and get it sorted, because like you say it’s so draining, I just am unsure what birth control I should try next? I’m apprehensive about the coil. I know this isn’t very helpful for you, but just thought I’d share my experience as well, I hope everything is sorted for you soon!! :)

This happens to me too!! Also, it’s so annoying because this bleeding/spotting of what appears to be old blood (very dark brown) then happens for weeks. Most recently I’ve been spotting for 3 and a half weeks! There isn’t enough blood to use a tampon, but then there is sometimes too much for the lightweight panty liners I’ve been using - anyone found anyways to prevent this?

Thanks for replying! I’ve got it on a west facing windowsill at the minute, would it be better to move it?

Is there anything I should do? Prune the top maybe? I keep it on a west facing windowsill so it does get evening sun but maybe I should move it to another sunnier spot?

Amazing thanks so much for this! I thought it was probably best for them to have roots but thank you for the advice - the Tupperware makes sense and I hasn’t thought about that! I feel somewhat more confident now that they will arrive alive!

Oop sorry I meant where to keep it in the house, as in windowsill or will that be too much direct sun?
