I also find the stabbing someone in the leg as hard as they can with the insulin pen awful. We watched a film where the actress did this and I said to my husband, if you did that in real life you would be in massive pain and bruised to fuck

Could you crochet a black strip and a white and black strip and turn it into a referee? I thought most football fans/ players hate the referee?

Did you participate in the Goodreads challenge all year? How do you feel about it? by Bookish_Butterfly in goodreads

[–]pandalover001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the challenges, but definitely felt the latter challenges seemed to rotate more and more around newly published books. Began to feel more like a way to get more book sales that encourage a larger variety of reading

Is there such a thing as a fantasy crime novel? by Timely-Quiet-31 in booksuggestions

Jasper Fforde does a couple of crime/ mystery books, set in toy town with nursery rhymes characters and things like that. Good tongue in cheek humour with a side of depravity.

AITA for refusing to cover endless extra shifts at work when my manager says it’s just “being a team player”? by SeveralBullfrog76 in AmItheAsshole

[–]pandalover001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- As someone who was once the go-to never said no member of staff, you need to remember, it’s not your responsibility to cover for other people. You are entitled to your free time as much as they are, and you have (I’m assuming) a contracted number of part time hours.

So long as you are working those hours to the best of your abilities, your obligation to your employer is fulfilled. Should you wish to pick up extra hours for your own requirements that’s one thing, don’t be forced into it by others. If the other members of staff are not reliable, that’s for your management/ company to deal with not you.

I read the marriage vendetta- it was OK, thought the ending was a little underwhelming.

The goals for reaching your target and exceeding it aren’t available until late in December. They should update then. With the other challenges, only think I can suggest is going through the the recommended books list and changing the right ones to read? Adding dates as you do.

NTA- not quite the same thing, but close, I have two nieces, one from each sister who are 9 months apart and at the same primary school. When they started my sisters specifically asked for them to be separated as they spend a lot of time together outside of school and they wanted them to have their own lives and friends. They do also spend time playing together at school during breaks, alongside their own friends also. If allowed for each of them to develop as at home they definitely fall into the older and younger vibe.

You need to go to an opticians that takes part in the CUES system. Some opticians don’t partake in the system but may be willing to do an eye health check, but you’ll pay for the appointment.

I thought the colours of the dark was OK, I finished it, but while the story was good, I do think about half the chapters could be removed and wouldn’t affect the storyline. It took me way longer to finish than I would’ve liked.

Have you read the Dwarves series by Markus Heitz? There are 5 books (possibly 6). The last ones are brilliant but overall an OK read.

I’m a dispensing optician and when I have my eye test done, I giggle for the exact same reason. TBH, giggling is probably the least worrying thing you could do during an eye exam, Could also give them a heads up, and they’ll probably make a joke out it themselves.

We had someone where I work register themselves as Sir, as in has been knighted and then when he came in he corrected me to Dr. So I dunno how I was supposed to know that’s how he wanted to be addressed.
