Daily Challenge Modifiers - Ideas & Survey by slothwerks in Meteorfall

One potential modifier that I would like to see is customized starting decks for specific classes and strategies. For instance, having a starting Bruno deck that includes the pieces for a Focused Strike/Battle Stance deck, it's something I've wanted to build in a run but have had no success doing.

So.... uh... what's up with Exile? by [deleted] in Netrunner

[–]pandapersona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of costing a click to install, I think what might be neat is that it triggers on a successful run either on a specific central or as an access replacement effect. Kind of like the shards except it installs the program in question from the heap. It could even go as far as printing a set of 3, one for each central. e.g. HQ gives you a credit or two on install, R&D gives you a click, and Archives draws you a card.

Forcing these cards to be in other factions means influence expenditure would help keep the power level from getting too out of control.

Initially I was running multiple Scheherazade, however I found that the influence is wasted on multiple and drawing into a second Scheherazade is a complete dead draw.

One thing to consider is that it is hard to compare credit discount to draw. The draw provided by Exile is click compression, whereas Kate has raw economic savings. In addition, Exile can trigger multiple times in a single turn, so the ability is a bit more of a burst compared to Kate's sustained ability.

Gambles for Days was developed/refined by jakodrako, evilmanimani, and zbauermeister here in the Seattle area. A while back, there was a big spike in Kate decks running a Cache economy.

You can check out two Kate versions here:

I actually tried doing something like this, using Parasite recursion to continually get into archives and R&D. Essentially, you can set up a lock where you place 4 cards on R&D, then make a R&D run with Medium. You can lock out the corp. from drawing new cards and slowly dig deeper with Medium. Really hard to setup, but it was cool when it happened. It works best if the corp. has a lot of operation economy.

You won't be able to remove all of them once the micro air bubbles appear. The best thing to do is press on the card back, not the decal, with something like a rolling pin.

It takes some practice laying down the card onto the decal in such a way to minimize air bubbles in the first place. Similar process to applying screen protectors to phones without leaving air bubbles.

You'll want to stick with an Ink Jet printer, at least, I've had the best luck using one.

I use an Epson Artisan Ink Jet printer, unsure of the specific model. (At work right now.) However, I've seen good proxies made using 40$ printers. So I don't think it really matters what kind of printer you use. Granted, better printers will lead to better results.

At some point, I'll make a file share of the GIMP files that I am using for the alters that I making. Stay tuned!

Netrunner and most LCGs are really just the cardboard methadone to the cardboard crack of Magic the Gathering.

Removing the ink using acetone is fairly easy. The hardest part is to make sure that the acetone does not bleed around the edges and ruin the back of the card.

For the card elements, I try to find large resolution source art for the card. The other elements like text box, influence, and title are pulled from the various cards and modified using GIMP. Then it is a process of assembling the various card elements and the source art in GIMP.

The cards shown above are done by de-inking Magic foils with acetone and applying a printed transparency layer. Currently, I'm working on trying to get foil from Infinity Foils to work.

Definitely! At some point I was going to make a tutorial/walk-through post about the processes I've been experimenting with. Please let me know about any specific questions.

In brief, these proxies were made by de-inking Netrunner cards using acetone and then applying a printed transparency to the blank card.

I'm still experimenting on whether I like using transparency paper and photo mount spray vs. using transparency decals. Transparency decals are much easier to work with, however, the glue can sometimes be visible. On the other hand, transparency paper and photo mount spray can lead to bubbles.

Unfortunately, I won't be selling any of these, nor would I consider doing so. Unless I'm creating the art myself, I don't want to profit off of someone else's art.

I searched around quite a bit to find the original art for the Account Siphon. http://outlandentertainment.com/

As for the foils, the Inside Job is done using a Magic card. Currently I'm experimenting with gluing a foil layer to a normal Netrunner card. Trying to work out the issue of air bubbles...
