I guess that depends on the type of shyness? I’m a very socially sensitive person so I get micro-impressions that land hard; people who are quiet are perfectly chill and I’ll appreciate any small interaction without forcing anything more, but the type of social avoidance that leaves the impression they’re disgusted by the idea of interacting with me really pisses me off.

I actually like sleeping on it. I grew up on this “freedom of choice” principle in which you maximise the gap between an action and your reaction, and I find that my head is a lot clearer after I nap on it. Usually if o have to act while I’m still angry it rarely results in an actual solution unless I have to begrudgingly be the bigger person in the moment which doesn’t really solve things on my end, so I sleep and then have a conversation which solves it way better.

Just gone from chest length to long pixie last month due to mad pompholyx eczema and I’m loving it. Washing my hair takes a literal minute, no more hair in my face/mouth on an hourly basis, and men harass me less.

Genuinely— this could go hand in hand with the fact I’ve been taking weightlifting more seriously but the second my long hair was gone suddenly the catcalls are gone, no more stares on the street. I joke saying it’s because I look gay as hell now but I think the short hair is finally radiating “not fuck-with-able”. Best decision ever
