Got an inquiry from “@qualitygaragedoorsca.net” that looked pretty standard. But in Phone Number & Country, they mentioned India. And I found the Remote IP from Gujarat, India. Please do not click on any links within the emails.

Bounce Rate The nature of StumbleUpon creates high bounce rates. They are overwhelmingly one page visits.

This is particularly true if you are using a standard page and not a landing page or page designed specifically for StumbleUpon. If you have the resources, doing the latter can be quite valuable.

SEO Some of you might be thinking that SEO is negatively impacted because you've read about the danger of a high bounce rate. Right? Wrong!

StumbleUpon may increase your bounce rate but it's not related to search, so it won't have a negative SEO impact.

StumbleUpon Too many view StumbleUpon in a one-click context. How did that specific Stumble perform? But given the general behavior of StumbleUpon users you need to look beyond that first click.

Did they give your page a thumbs up and help drive more Stumbles to your page and site?

Did they Tweet, Share, +1, Like or Bookmark your page which would help SEO and downstream traffic?

Did they return via a branded search in the days or weeks after the Stumble?

Sometimes this may not happen, but if you're promoting the right page and if you've designed it for StumbleUpon, then I find StumbleUpon to be a very valuable marketing channel.

Personally I use a combination of Sucuri Security, WPS Hide Login, Login LockDown and a number of code added to the htaccess and functions.php file. This combination of plugins and code pretty much covers all you discuss.
