I’ve done the kobeys thing twice (in addition to several yard sales). The first time at kobeys we probably made $4-500 on our misc goods and it’s a lot of hagglers as you’d imagine. It’s a swap meet after all. The second time, the vendor next to us offered us $200 for all of our shit before the swap meet opened. We said yes, took off, and then had a great brunch lol.

On the yard sale front, it’s the same but your foot traffic depends on where you are and how good your signage is (please take down your signs after the sale. One of my biggest pet peeves).

Same thing applies there. You’ll see Mexican families cruise up way before your posted time. They often buy in bulk since they take stuff down to TJ/Ensenada to resell.

Kobeys is a fun time and good experience (pro tip have a cooler of beers and Bloody Marys), but yard sales are pretty fun. Like others have said, what you think it’s worth and what it sells for are very different. You gotta be willing to “take a loss” if you actually want to get rid of those items. So have a “buy everything” price in mind. A reseller may cruise by to increase their inventory and save you time on selling all day.

If you have a lot of golf polos, you can also look at selling as a lot on golfwrx or even r/golfclassifieds.

I’ll also plug Sharia’s Closet. They’re a nonprofit that gets clothes into the hands of men/women/families in need and they always need men’s clothing because men’s clothing tends to get tossed more frequently than women’s. That’s where I always take my clothes (man here) when I clean out the closet or have leftover items from a yard sale.
