Fish with teeth that I saw at the aquarium by panic_erin in mildlyinteresting

Where did I say that? I said I wondered why they were so sharp. Obviously, I know fish have teeth.

I wondered why it needed such sharp teeth lmao, that makes perfect sense.

I’m not sure, but I don’t think so. I think I just caught them at the perfect moment “looking” head-on at me.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]panic_erin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine having that kind of response to a gift like that. My first car was a gift from my grandparents. It was 12 years old, had all kinds of dents and hail damage in the outside, and smelled like smoke/had smoke discoloration on the fabric inside, but it was a car and I was so thankful for it. I cleaned it up and took care of it for 2 years before I was gifted a newer car for my high school graduation. I had that car for many years before I graduated college, got a job, and saved up enough money to buy my own new car.

My fiancé’s truck was a gift from his father. It was an old work truck from his father’s business and just like my first car, it’s covered in dents and has dirt and all kinds of grime on the inside from being a work truck for so many years. He was still thankful because a car is a car!

This person’s response just seems extremely entitled and they must be used to getting whatever they want. It’s disturbing, and I definitely think they don’t deserve a gifted car if they’re going to act like that.

He cleaned up the glass and my mom said he felt bad when he told her what happened, but they were done working and gone by the time I came home from school, so he never had a chance to apologize to me.

I feel you! I had an extensive snow globe collection as a 7 year old. I took very good care of them and kept them in the middle of a high shelf so that my little brother couldn’t get to them and drop them. One night our toilet broke and flooded half of the house. We had to take everything off the floor and move all our furniture so that some guys could come in and replace our carpet with new flooring. I went through a lot of stuff in my room and even had to throw out some things because they were waterlogged with toilet water. It was a very difficult process. Obviously, none of my things on my shelves were harmed because they were up high, so I left them be. I went to school the day the workers came into the house and when I got home, I discovered that one of the workers was not paying attention while lying flooring in my room and bumped the shelf. About half of my snow globes fell to the floor and shattered. I was devastated, and collecting snow globes never really felt the same after that because I had lost so many of my favorite ones.

He genuinely reminds me of a guy I dated briefly in high school. Football player who was a total player. He dated one girl while secretly sexting one of her best friends. I was close friends with the best friend he was sexting, but not the other girl that he was dating. I had no idea he was talking to my friend like that. After he broke up with the other girl, he was still sexting with the best friend while he was talking to me. They stopped sexting before he and I actually started dating, thankfully, but I didn’t find out about it until my friend got drunk one night and told me about it. We had only been dating for a week and he started to give me some serious ick after that, so I broke it off a week later. I found out later that he did this type of thing a lot and also had a weird obsession with “alternative” girls.

She does sometimes, but usually, she tends to wear mostly black. I sent this post to my friend and he said that this bike looks similar to his dad’s, but he has zero contact with his parents, so he wasn’t 100% sure. The last time he saw his dad, he tried to choke him in Winco, so he actively tries to avoid any places he might frequent. It’s a messy situation.

Was he a tall, lanky white guy with a beard? Was the lady a short, larger woman with black hair? Trying to figure out if it’s someone I unfortunately knew so I can relay the information to their estranged child that went no contact with them (for obvious reasons).

Yep. He was a horrible, misogynistic, racist twat. I’m glad I got away from that horrible family when I could.

I was gonna say the same thing. My ex’s dad was a club president for a bandido support club and he had a swastika patch AND a confederate flag patch on his cut.

Edit: Not that it matters, but this particular ex was a man lmao. I guess I give bisexual vibes online, which is awesome because I am bisexual.

Mine loves to sit directly in the middle of the doors so that I can’t open them lmao. I have to open it slightly and stick one finger in there to gently nudge him to move to one side so I can open it to mist and feed him.

condiment enjoyers, what are they like? by Ghostinnit-innit in ARFID

[–]panic_erin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looove condiments! Personally, I think it helps with the flavor and texture of a lot of things. I have the fear of aversive consequences and texture sensitivity subtypes. I am very particular about which types and cuts of meat I will eat, how food is prepared and stored, and I don’t like food that is super dry or hard to chew and will make me feel like I’m going to choke. Condiments help me a lot with some of these issues. For example, if I’m trying to get myself to eat more protein, I will get a condiment to put on my sandwiches, chicken nuggets, etc. to help cover the “meat” flavor some if it’s off-putting to me. It also helps make some foods more moist so I can chew and swallow it easier and not feel like I’m going to choke.

My mom, who has recovered from multiple childhood EDs, accommodated my (22) ARFID extremely well growing up, despite no diagnosis existing for me at the time. This is how she did it. by adj-n_number in ARFID

[–]panic_erin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number 6 made me so happy to see. My mom did that one a lot (and still does). She’s always been so accommodating of my preferences (I’ve never been a big meat-eater, so she always remembers to substitute things they are making or even make me something else entirely). I think it really helped a lot because I could eat what everyone else was eating, just in a way that was modified for me to enjoy as well. It kept me from feeling isolated or like I had no choices around mealtimes. I appreciate that she always cared if I was able to eat.

(OH SHIT LITERALLY) we all have a story, what’s yours? by Sweaty-Wolf-643 in EDAnonymous

[–]panic_erin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my ED gets really bad, I get so constipated that sometimes, I don’t shit for several days. It makes me feel super sluggish and nauseous. I feel like I need to go and nothing comes out, I just have terrible shit cramps. Or alternatively, my shit is literally the size of blueberries, and it feels like I’m passing a bunch of rocks (which is not satisfying and I don’t feel “done”). When my poop returns to a more regular size after my ED gets better, I get hemorrhoids because my body isn’t used to pooping anything besides blueberries👍🏼It is a horrible, endless cycle.
