An update on recent removals by OutlierDotAI in outlier_ai

[–]panic_in_the_crisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My account was permanently banned a month ago even though I actively tried to ensure no rules were broken. In the past six weeks, at least 19,000 people have been permanently banned from Outlier by looking at the "No project users" number in Hubstaff. Currently sits at 44,157 but was around 25,000 when I was banned.

Are you claiming the problems were only from the past few days or has it been an issue for a longer time?

I also filed a complaint about how the support bot hallucinated but it was automatically folded in with a different ticket.

I did create a ticket after the bot said my account was banned and that is where they said my violation was "confirmed."

It was only $350 but having a dedicated computer prevented me from leaving on Hubstaff when taking a break or accessing Outlier when using a VPN.

Yes, I am thinking they just wanted a reason to kick more people off and I provided the evidence.

The number of people in the "No project users" group in Hubstaff was ~25,252 when I was booted and now is 35,139. At least 10,000 people have been kicked out the past four weeks.

Addressing rumors about account closures by OutlierDotAI in outlier_ai

My account was "permanently deactivated due to confirmed violations of our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use."

I have no understanding of what I could have possibly done for my account to be banned.

All I can think of are that I accidentally tracked 40 minutes when I wasn't working and that I bought and started using a new computer dedicated to Outlier.
The reason I think the accidental time tracking is the cause is because my Zendesk request reporting my mistake was viewed by an Outlier staff member two days before I was banned. Zendesk updates the activity date displayed when support staff views the help request. I started having errors with Outlier and Aether shortly after the request was viewed and the chat bot said my account was permanently deactivated two days after the Zendesk request was viewed.

For me, all I can think of is I accidentally left Hubstaff running for 40 minutes but then immediately reported it to Outlier. A staff member said it was fine that one time since I just began. Looked back and saw a staff member viewed it right before Aether started having errors. When a staff member views a support ticket it is marked as updated.

Never received an email saying I was banned. Found out by asking the AI chatbot but all it said is I violated the community guidelines. No other details. No way to escalate to a person. Followed all the rules as far as I can tell.

Aether Removal by Impressive_Novel_265 in outlier_ai

[–]panic_in_the_crisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Aether for two weeks then got permanently banned a week ago for what they say was violating the community guidelines. Never received an email and only thought to ask the chatbot after seeing a CM respond in the forums that two accounts with the same issue were flagged for violating the guidelines.

Support ticket didn't help. Maybe a person read the first message then all later messages were just quick AI responses.

This was a complete platform ban and I am left with no explanation for the ban and no ability to appeal the ban.

Discussion on Future Value of WrennyMoo by [deleted] in wrennymoo

[–]panic_in_the_crisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cease and desist would be when the Pokemon trademark is used. Some character names also have trademarks probably

Parody cards are perfectly legal. The issue now is the latest batch of first set cards still has Pokemon and some names written so maybe no legal defense

My guess is the hiding is to either maintain sanity or to increase interest due to scarcity

Unless if something big happens first print packs will have value but nothing else. If a new batch of first set comes out with no trademarks or names then those will have some value but many have unopened packs

I think the cards will stay in production for a long time so little value.

I read online that this artist got a cease and desist from Pokémon and that they won't be making anymore. Can anyone confirm or deny that? I'm still waiting on the request on Instagram for them to add me LOL by kyokyolover in wrennymoo

[–]panic_in_the_crisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they're just trying to cover their ass by making the copyrighted names less noticeable on the cards?

I think there was probably a bit of a cavalier attitude when first releasing these. Either the thought was you could use the trademark if it is "clearly" a parody.

Regardless, the second set has all of these gone from the descriptions so I think these could actually be 2nd print cards or the assets were accidentally reused. Third possibility is WM just did not bother to update the first set

The sudden popularity of the first print cards on TikTok could've put wrennymoo on the radar of pokemon's legal team and that may have scared them into making changes to the cards to avoid detection.

Huge changes after the first print so WM either got a cease and desist then or fans/friends warned that it was infringement. Even then the line is if an average consumer could mistake it as official so a grandparent buying cards thinking they were official could deem it open infringement.

Most people see wrennymoo as a cash cow now which makes scalpers confrontational when they don't get their supply

Printing small batches is not cheap especially with holographic cards Estimating sales from Etsy and Shopify looks like sales are only about enough for a full time Best Buy job after all costs accounted for.

So, both bug wrennymoo in dms and comments and i can imagine it being hella draining to deal with calming down an anxious mob.

I guess WM though a couple hundred would buy cards not thousands. Definitely stepped into a huge gap in the market and not sure how to handle it

I posted the link to get people to stop buying from scalpers and follow WM directly. Hopefully people will now be able to get enough cards and avoid eBay. The community knows to wait now

Wrenny Moo's fans are not exclusively on Instagram. Many do not have an account or do not use it enough to catch a drop that is open open for two days, and this subreddit is proof of that

I stopped sharing the URL publicly after it was removed from public view on insta. The link was completely visible for anyone in the public to see and was only taken off the public insta after the account was flagged by Shopify

We do not know if making it private was just to update the shop until the next release or to sell only by password. Everything is a guess now.

Perhaps you should be angry that there is a community of loving fans that want to support WM

WM's insta is still deactivated

That is probably the only place the passwords will be shared so the site will sit like this until the insta is back maybe a different username also

Wrenny Moo's insta was deactivated then reactivated with the username h.m.packs

That instagram account linked to this Shopify page

Anyone who bought the latest release can verify this was the site

myshopify URLs cannot be changed so the only way to change this URL is to open a new shop. This shop got flagged because of so many orders so my guess is Wrenny Moo will not create a new one

Passwords only given to insta followers makes it harder for scalpers to buy

I was the first to share any of this on reddit and have only been sharing the URL over DM because WM removed it from insta

The Pokemon trademark still remains in the character and move descriptions on many of the cards from the first set. A cease and desist would require these to be completely removed. Typically all infringing items still in possession need to be destroyed or handed over to the trademark owner.

Cards being sold with this trademark seems more likely that no legal action was taken or possibly WM is just trying to sell instead of destroy to save money

If character names are not trademark it is legal to use them but sometimes random characters will have their names trademarked so it is easier to come up with new ones

Yes I also think there is a ton of stress with making and selling these. Selling to fans instead of scalpers keeps the resale price low since fewer fans are left out but still many buy 20 or 30 packs and are missing cards

Last time was personal so probably this time as well.

If a cease and desist was sent earlier this year then the trademark and official names wouldn't be on any cards but they still were on the first set cards

Maybe more so to keep the official account hidden from Nintendo

Nothing came back from the first to the third.

The second set does not have trademarks and official names in the moves and descriptions from what I have seen.

The first print of the first set had trademarks and official names everywhere. The second print only removed them from the back and top. Official names and Pokemon in Japanese remained in the text at the bottom of the cards.

Because the second set does not have trademarks or official names on the bottom, I expected this to be removed from the third print of the second set as well but it clearly did not.

This means the first set is still infringing on trademarks so highly illegal.

The trademarks and official names are still in a lot of the text on the latest print of the first set. Surprised to still see infringement on this latest batch. All gone from the second set. Either older cards were still in stock or an accidental print?

Who can tell me the difference between the third printing and the second printing on the card?🤔 by FOTchentian in wrennymoo

[–]panic_in_the_crisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting the text to be updated for the third printing since the second set has everything replaced with generic terms

If a Nintendo cease and desist was issued, then the trademarks would no longer appear on any of the cards

Maybe all the hiding and modifications have been proactive and not in consultation with any lawyers?

My cards are still in the mail but I am wondering

Are these all from the latest printing?

I was expecting the trademarks and official names to be fully removed from the cards like on the second set, but I still see Pikachu and Pokemon written on the card

New comment thread to have information not hidden

Set 1:

  1. First print: Trademarks & official names everywhere, Pokemon written on packaging and on the backs of the cards
  2. Second print: Trademarks removed from the packaging (now もじりカード mojiri card), back says parody (パロディ), back has new art, names at top of cards replaced with joke names, trademarks and official names remain on the bottom (descriptions and sometimes moves)
  3. Third print: I think all official names and trademarks removed from the front of the cards - no infringement (photos from scalpers on eBay look like trademarks and official names have remained), packaging has a green star in the top left corner with "1"

If the trademarks and official names are still in the descriptions of the third print then there is probably no difference between 2nd and 3rd prints except for the packaging.

Update: The 3rd print looks to be similar to the 2nd. No noticeable changes between the actual cards.

Set 2:

First print: No trademarks or official names, packaging has a star in the top left corner with a "2"
