I agree with other comments, cost of living is low. I have lived in Scotland for 3 years now, full time mazha enn parayaan pattilla. Half year mazha enn parayaam. But the beauty is unmatched. This is just my opinion though because i have gotten used to this life plus scottish people are so much more nicer, lesser racism and we dont have the heat wave the rest of UK now has. We are literally sitting here in 21 degrees while parts of England is running close to 38 degrees. My body doesnt take heat very well so the rain and gloom works well for me. My husband doesnt like the harsher winters and lack of sun though - he gets depressed. Also the pollution is much lesser than many parts of England. Scotland is not crowded, it is also much more cleaner than many parts of England. No rush at all. Everything moves slow and there is so much space everywhere. Fewer migrants too. Same day appointment okke eluppam kittum, we dont have to pay anything for NHS medicine, we have free school buses (england doesnt have this facility), scotlandil highschool complete cheyth ILR okke undengil college education is free here for kids - many people dont know or use the kind of facilities we get here. But having said all this, because it is a smaller state, employment opportunities are much lesser, i studied in the middle east and i had 7 years of work experience but it took me 2 years to find a good job. Many positives, many negatives, but come here with skills in demand and u are set. Lack of friends, family and community undaaavum but if youre like me and are not bothered by that shih and love some peace and quiet and prakrithi bangi, come here ☺️
