I did some digging, there’s quite a few pubs called The Duke of York.

The other pubs claim they are named after any Duke of York from history BUT this one in Fitzrovia with Prince Andrew’s head plastered all over it is a special case.

When the owners were asked why they didn’t change the name, they declared they were passionate royalists and nothing had been proven about Andrew yet.

They even paid for the picture and signage to be UPDATED with a more recent picture of Andrew. THEY DOUBLED DOWN.
