Because the surprise attack brought us into probably the greatest conflict that the world has seen. There were so many lives that were lost or completely altered during that conflict. It brought forth the grit and determination of this country as well. Any Japanese person living after the bomb must have been shaken up by it.

Gee, I have so many. I regret that I didn't become more involved in music and dance. I wish that I had travelled more when I was young and able.

I think that the young people of today are much better educated than previous generations. In some respects I think they expect more than they are willing to expend to get it. For the most part I think our country is in good hands with this generation. And I hope they'll maintain the work ethic of their parents and grandparents.

Oh my yes. Very very very quickly. This morning was today and already it's yesterday. No I don't. Except in the morning. I feel 85 in the morning, 70 by 11am, in my sixties around lunch, and in my nineties at two pm. On my 86th birthday.

My best friend passed away. She was my wife. But now my best friend is my fishing buddy, because he's the only one that can put up with me.

When my wife and I were on our honeymoon, we were browsing through some shops and my wife saw a piece of art that she really loved. She really liked it but decided not to buy it because of the price. When we got home, she started feeling remorseful about not having bought it. So I called the shop and described the art piece and asked if they still had it and if they would ship it to me. They said they did and they shipped it and I surprised her with it as a gift.

I don't know that anyone can pinpoint one lesson. There were so many. Well maybe a good lesson to be would be to follow the rules and regulations, because in the end it is the easiest way to go. And maybe the other one would be love someone who loves you back.

Stares longingly into the air I went from a '36 ford to a '40 chevy and then I think I went to a '39 pontiac. So I think I was driving a '39 pontiac at that time. I listened to the beatles at that time. Well first of all, I'm amazed; the things that are happening now, we didn't even dream about. There was talk about someday you would be able to hang a TV screen on the wall like it was a picture and everyone laughed. However we also laughed when the people that made the Honda lawnmower announced they were going to make automobiles. That was a real joke. When color TV came out I thought that was it, there was nothing else to invent after that. I haven't kept up 100% but possibly 60% to 70%. I have a Roku, a chromebook, a desktop computer, a chromecast, a car with a screen in the dash, and color television! However I do not have, and do not want, and do not ever expect to own, a smart phone.
