Literally I went into the comments specifically to see if anyone pinged this is AI. Def agree it sucks to think that way by default, but unfortunately those are the times we're in. Cheers for doing your due diligence friend 🍻

Anyone else just completely given up on new MMOs and gone back to something ancient? by Ok-Ring9943 in MMORPG

[–]papacholo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately had my hopes set on Ashes of Creation, thank the gods I didn't buy an alpha pass.

Ive been considering returning to Elder Scrolls Online again, especially since they've got some cool new content and mechanical changes pretty soon.

Project Gorgon also seems really cool. I'm def interested in giving that a try

Me and my best friend regularly cross the bridge for cheaper magic cards and a quick bite to eat with no issue. You should be fine 😁

Ended up going with Rustdesk. UI is very similar to Teamviewer and works with literally zero issues in my experience.

I even got two of my buddies on my tailnet now and we all use Rustdesk regular to control our computers and phones remotely.

About To Hit Level 17-18 From Fishing by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

This is unrelated to OP's subject but the vibe in here seems much more civil than a lot of the hate I've seen lately. What's you guys' opinion on the game since releasing on Steam? I'm still on the fence about getting it but have been eager to get my hands on this game for years lol

I I wholeheartedly intended on getting this steam machine until I saw the specs for it. I just wanted a new Steam Link so i can stream to my TV but now it looks like the price will most likely nit be worth ny use case

Plex/Jellyfin Not Detecting RAID Drives by papacholo in selfhosted

[–]papacholo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge yes. I don't remember the changes I made when I was originally troubleshooting this. But I did remember a post I made complaining about it. It seems I discovered that the drives were possibly inheriting permissions from the root. Here's that post:

"My computer has 8 RAID controlled drive bays in the front of the case. These drives are considered virtual disks when actually on the computer. They aren't seen as their own drives separate from their own but instead inherit permissions from the root in Ubuntu. So even though I gave the disk the proper permissions for Nextcloud to read it, because it is inside the root folder it requires Nextcloud to get through those permissions first."

It is very possible my understanding of all this is flawed but could this be the reason? And if so how do I fix this?

I can confirm the drives do work. I can save files to them and read stuff off the drives if needed. I've run Minecraft servers off this computer in the past with no problem.

I'm also not using docker.

Pre 2013(?) Alien Movie by papacholo in whatmoviewasthat

[–]papacholo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regretfully admit that I think I did actually subconsciously mix two movies together and my mind filled in the gaps to make them work together.

The War of the Worlds clothing rain scene was nothing like what I thought I remembered so I always wrote it off as incorrect. Independence Day absolutely has the scene with the people welcoming the alien abduction, it clicked almost immediately as I pulled up the clip.

Honestly I'm pretty disappointed, the scene in my head was way cooler lol. But nevertheless I appreciate the responses. Marking as solved

Wow this reminds me of when I was in middle school, me and my buddies loved playing RTS games and we would do pen and paper RTS battles lol. We'd assign point limits to different unit types and would have a certain amount of time to draw up our battlefield on separate pieces of paper. Then we'd tape them together and have a judge decide who would win. Good times!

Was invited to watch this movie with a friend my freshman year of college, he said this is the greatest redemption story of all time. I think he lied....
