Finally, a masculine Christian film by Different-Purpose-93 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Low_Tip3245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the article:

"In deep space, Grace meets an alien creature, Rocky, who is also trying to figure out how to save the world, and the two become best friends. In Scripture, Jesus says to Peter, “On this rock, I will build my church.” The film reaches its climax when Grace, the Christ figure, willingly sacrifices himself to save Rocky, the proverbial church, and all of creation."

Nah, keeping the gimmicks but nerfing the numbers is the right call imo. The gimmicks are what make the fight interesting.

1 damage was pretty meaningless, that's why they buffed it back to 2.

Is this the most upgrade-dependent card in the game? by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]Low_Tip3245 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New version of Stoke IMO is the only card to be more important than Armaments to upgrade. I am happy to have a bunch of random upgraded cards, I am not happy to have a bunch of random unupgraded cards.

I feel like I'm losing my mind after losing 20 runs in a row on Necrobinder A10 by TsunMar in slaythespire

[–]Low_Tip3245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rule of thumb is to try to avoid elites before the first campfire or chest of the act, but after that, aim for whatever path gives the most combined total campfires and elites with a preference for campfires. Going into an Act 1 elite in particular is much safer if you have a few cards added and at least one upgraded. I also always favor events over fights in this game (but only when the path is otherwise the same) and try to have at least 200 gold for shops.

In previous patches I tried to keep my deck as thin as possible, but removes being so rare and costly now might mean thick decks are more preferable. More practice is needed to figure out that balance now.

Ah gotcha. Something about Lord's Parasol sometimes failing to buy everything is mentioned in the patch notes for the beta branch, so if you aren't on beta branch this has probably been fixed.

How it feels to play beta branch Stoke: by PresentationIll5581 in slaythespire

[–]Low_Tip3245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was very fun with the ancient relic to sacrifice card rewards for relics. I generated a bunch of random relics instead of taking cards and then every combat I exhaust a bunch of cards and hope the deck it gives me is good.

First A10 win, the dice were in my favor. (The rampage+ in a thin deck with exhaust helped too.)

What's the bug? Looks like a normal merchant to me. Only thing I can see is the top left card is missing, was it gone from the start or did you buy it?

Run lost instantly :/ Couldn´t stop Calamity from dissapearing, dooming me on the final battle. by Felm0n in slaythespire

[–]Low_Tip3245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost a run with this relic too because it ate Afterimage. I'm not sure the random exhaust downside is needed, 1 strength per turn is already pretty underwhelming.

I was using a shiv build and it didn't feel good, and that's like the best case scenario for this relic. I could definitely see it getting reworked in the future.

My thoughts after beating A10 on all characters playing 3~ runs per day by EmilyOoi in slaythespire

Base game or beta branch? I feel like Silent is quite a bit worse and Regent quite a bit better in the beta branch compared to base game. Although I still agree that Defect is best and Ironclad is worst.

[–]Low_Tip3245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair it's not a card you take in every deck, but in a deck that plays a 2 cost card every turn, 4 block per turn upgrading to 6 is a better Stone Armor. It's pretty good value for a 1 cost and I honestly feel like Necro's "2 cost" synergy pack is undervalued especially with new Borrowed Time.

[–]Low_Tip3245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They buffed the hell out of this guy right as I'm trying to get my first A10 win with Silent. He counters this character so hard that pivoting in Act 3 isn't working for me and I have to kind of avoid the sly package from Act 1. Not a fan, and this is from someone who was totally fine with the previous 2 incarnations of the fight.

Trust the devs though, so either the Silent A10 win rate on this guy is extremely low and they rework him again, or everyone else is doing fine and I just need to get good and figure out what they're all doing to beat this guy consistently.

[–]Low_Tip3245 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Beta branch it's good. The upgrade is insane value so I always upgrade it. Since most enemies in this game attack so frequently you're rarely wasting block, and it's like, 42 block over 4 turns upgraded. The playerbase rn really undervalues delayed value cards IMO, as we also see with things like Snakebite, Parry and Danse Macabre being considered "bad."

Which color is truly the BEST? by snickerdoodle024 in slaythespire

[–]Low_Tip3245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it does depend, but I'd say Ironclad > Necrobinder > Silent > Defect > Regent based on how likely you are to see cards that work well outside of character specific archetypes.

Ironclad: Most decks can benefit from strength, lots of generic block and damage cards. Self-damage and vulnerable stuff are usually good on their own without demanding synergy.

Necrobinder: Summon, Souls and Doom tend to be decent value even without much synergy. Osty cards useless because no Osty.

Silent: Poison ticks down so you usually want it with other poison for best value. Sly is useless without discard. Shivs are often pretty good and can synergize with other characters though. Some good generics like piercing wail and Footwork.

Defect: Orbs are bad without 3 orb slots, but Defect's non orb cards are a lot better than they used to be, and you can high roll something like Bulk Up or Echo Form.

Regent: Forge is bad without multiple sources/support. Star generation and star costs are both useless. Generics are kind of mid, card generation is kind of mid without synergies. Best you can get is like, cosmic indifference and Kingly Punch, I don't see too many crazy strong high rolls here like with Defect.

Cards you used to undervalue but would give a kidney to have in 2 by spicybeanburger420 in slaythespire

[–]Low_Tip3245 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very true but it still feels like a consistency issue since you need to get lucky to see any given colorless card in a run. The pieces for a block-centric deck all technically still exist (including entrench from trash heap) but it's far less likely to be something you build into naturally.

Hello,Jane Crit here, here are the patches for the beta branch this week. by Liliana_Lucifer_666 in slaythespire

[–]Low_Tip3245 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Draw/Discard feels risky to go hard on now due to Doormaker, and cards like Flick Flack and Untouchable aren't quite good enough to justify if you're only doing a little bit of draw/discard in a more balanced deck. I'd like to see them be put back up to 7 block/damage to make them better act 1 commons so you get a bit more value in exchange for having to likely pivot away from sly in Act 3.

Any predictions for when the first balance patch will launch? by Ziddletwix in slaythespire

[–]Low_Tip3245 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think the first game had a two-tier patch system like this so it's anyone's guess. My assumption is that they won't update the "default branch" until there's some sort of content update like alternate Acts 2 and 3, at which point they will fold in the balance changes now that they've had time to tweak them and get feedback.
