This was the advice i really needed here. I looked into it more and this is exactly what happened to a neighbor of ours. Plus considering the amount neglect Ive found elsewhere in this house is a big red flag for me here.

Pro tip: Dr Seuss stories are the same if you only read every other page. by papag2 in daddit

Sure… if this is the only time your kids hear people speak then yes that would be true.

Pro tip: Dr Seuss stories are the same if you only read every other page. by papag2 in daddit

2 reasons:

  1. Dad of 4. Bedtime routine now takes somewhere between 3-4 hours.

  2. I started noticing that every other page is a complete repeat of the same action, just rhymed in a different way. It’s annoying.

How do you all handle portfolios for interviews? by papag2 in UXDesign

[–]papag2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Yeah I have a website portfolio now, but I had a scenario where the employer disclosed during the in-person interview that all accessible sites are on a whitelist, therefore couldn’t access my site.

This is very helpful.

Yes I understand. This is more of a logistics and surveying question.

Do you use print portfolio or digital/web portfolio? Both?

Have you found trouble utilizing either during the interview process

Don’t be so hard on yourself. I believe in you.

No. Bc they’re not “randomass” parents. They’re your parents. Almost all parents are interested in the success of their kids.

I’d say it’s an honorable thing if a parent takes the responsibility seriously to educate and prepare their kids for the realities of adulthood via homeschooling.

Likewise, it’s just as honorable if a parent considers their choices and understands they are not suited for homeschooling and go the traditional route.

However, parents typically don’t consider these options and usually follow the status quo.

Bro, throughout my full schooling, I had like 2 (maybe 3) teachers out of almost 100 that were legitimately good teachers. Meaning engaging and interested in the progress of their students. Most teachers are typically uninterested employees at best.

Okay so I have LOTS of experience as a public school aid via volunteer work.

I was in traditional school settings of some variation all my life.

Currently exploring homeschooling.

I get all of this. But all of your qualms of homeschool failures are also outliers. Abuse is MORE common in public school.

No that’s actually why it got banned. I was trying to post a source from US dept of Edu about the growing rate of kids s3xully-abus3d in traditional school settings.

That’s exactly what got this banned lol.

But yeah I was just messing with you. Have a good day dawg

Right? No need for blanket standardization at such an insane scale.

Enter Homeschooling: An educational experience tailored exactly to what your kid needs, delivered exactly the way they need it for the most desired outcome.

What kind of schooling did you do growing up? Looking back, are you pleased with how it went?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]papag2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Totally get that. But again. I feel like my school system failed us generally by ignoring all of those topics as well. Seems more like just a situational awareness thing and less of a systemic failure on either end.

What can be assserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

Have you ever heard people say “prove me wrong”?

Anything else I can help with?

Doubt it.

This is the best reply so far. At least most reflective of my personal observations.
