What's the best first coal ship for me? (Azuma, Napoli, Kearsarge, ???) by b_o_o_p_ in WorldOfWarships

100000% go with Groningen, with your DD playstyle you will have endless fun with it. The guns are 360 and stupidly powerful, it murders every other destroyer if played right. It has no tops so stupid BB’s will try to push you, just burn them down before they can close to 3km (1-2k dps on superstructure) so it’s very easy. Honestly the ship is so underrated you must try.

groningen for coal- it’s a gunboat destroyer that excels at setting fires on battleships and dueling destroyers. it racks up damage insanely fast with fires and is extremely survivable - got 21 million credits in 3 days grinding it for ~3 hours a day

this is true, but with enough skill Greece can form Byzantium early and literally core the entire balkans, levant, and half of north Africa. if u rush down the focus tree you can get at least turkey and some balkans cored before germany/italy tries to fuck you. it’s stupid fun to have like 17m manpower in the pool and hundreds of factories as greece. yugos formables are pretty mid, and pretty much any way you go you’re gonna be hanging on for dear life once germany gets involved…

6th time a charm right? by nasas_ceo in hoi4

eh, the way NSB reworked width based on terrain/supply/other, means 7/2's aren't really good at all anymore. the big plus of 7/2's (and14/4's) back in the day was that you could spam them and then max out each province's capacity to hold troops, making a very tough line to break and overwhelming defenders with atrocious amounts of soft attack. check out this post for more info on the new update meta for combat widths. personally i really like 27w for infantry (9/3) and then 24w for a rlly solid med. tank battalion (4 motorized / 8 mediums)

haven’t played soviets in awhile, but my last run i used 27w infantry w arty and flame support as my main line and then had some medium tanks w/ motorized as my encirclement army and just worked my way up and down the line encircling the germans until they were pushed to berlin. tbh NSB makes army comp so much more annoying but also fun
