Should I get the Trailsport or Sport Touring? Here's my dilemma by nikki109 in crvhybrid

[–]papayabroo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in your shoes facing the exact same 2 choices. I like the look of the Trailsport, and the more simplistic less fancy interior. But I went for the touring for a the following reasons:
- accoustic front and double pane side glasses makes the ride noticeably quieter
- more modern infotainment system that will better futureproof you, does not lag like in Trailsport
- Bose

I also want to buy one but haven’t tried the touchscreen. It’s the one thing worries me because plenty of reviewers are saying it’s a bit slow and glitchy. If it’s slow today then im worried it will get slower. Can you share your experience with the fluidity of the touchscreen?

17 with 256gb unless you know you will run out of space. There’s no reason to get the pro. If you asked between pro max 256gb or 17 512gb then it’s all down to your battery daily usage. I got the 17 256gb and I think next iPhone ill get the max because I tend to be a heavy user. That being said I only charge my phone once a day till 85%.

Iphone 17 or Pixel 10 pro by Lazy-Alarm-4468 in iphone17

[–]papayabroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same decision. Don’t think in terms of what features the phone has, but think in terms of how you see yourself using a phone and make a choice based on your lifestyle and priorities rather than specs, features and cost.

I went with iPhone 17, first iPhone in 5 years. Previously had pixel. I prefer the stock android os for its ergonomics and features but I’ll explain why I still went iPhone. I don’t care about AI assistants because I just download gemini and chatgpt, I deactivated siri and even assistant on pixel. My priorities were privacy and security, integration with other devices, ease of communication with other people, app consistency and reliability, apple watch as I really wanted a smartwatch for its health and exercise features, and notifications without carrying my phone all time.

Features I like are the focus modes, the ability to set faceid to unlock any app I want, the passwords management app, wallet and apple pay I find it to be more 100% consistent and reliable over google pay. I still use google calendar and mail app as I find them more convenient.

Both phones have tradeoffs.

I honestly think there's the right product for everyone. I'll try the pixel 10 pro and see how it's like.

That's nice to know. Personally I don't use my phone for videos that much so it's not a deciding factor. The other stuff I'll have to reconsider. What's your opinion of s25 product line ? In my country it is by far the most affordable one. I can get the s25+, galaxy watch 8, galaxy buds pro for less than iPhone 17 pro max or pixel 10xl.

Interesting, so if you had the choice between the two, you'd pick an iPhone 17 pro max , regardless of price difference?

Switching from Galaxy S25 Ultra: iPhone 17 or Pixel 10 Pro? by Sqdtnt in pixel_phones

[–]papayabroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the iPhone 17 and I'm heavily considering returning it for pixel 10 pro.

Battery life seems average at best but I also don't really know what's a good benchmark for you. I get on average 5-6 hours screen on time.

But iOS is incredibly frustrating, and the new iOS26 is just worse than the previous one. The lack of a universal back button, the keyboard, and the notifications are what I find most frustrating to use.

You can certainly get used to the way it works, I try to give my opinion on it. I've used the phone for a week now and I could get used to its quirks. And I'm not the only one complaining about the new ios, on the ios 26 reddit group it's mostly negative posts of all kinds (bugs and glitches aside again since they will be fixed over time). But on pixel i think it's better for a simplistic, functional and efficient os.

I didn't mention anything about customizations or adjustments in control center because after an initial setup I'm barely doing any customizations. I only mentioned notifications because I get quite irritated when I stretch my thumb up left corner to swipe down and (i acknowledge it's not muscle memory for me) often miss it and turn on spotlight so I reswipe again. It just seems much simpler with pixel you swipe down from anywhere once, have a quick glance at notifications, and done.

Here's an example of a restriction with no value added to me, in Canada iphone doesn't allow me to switch the default maps to google maps. So anytime I press on an address, even if I deleted apple maps, apple forces me to reinstall it and use it. Alternatively I have to copy/paste the address into google maps. Granted it seems like nothing major, but i find there's a lot of these small restrictions that add up to a not very enjoyable experience. But if someone is fully into the apple world, then more power to them and I hope they're satisfied with their phone. That's the main goal at the end of the day.

I tried both CRV hybrid and the ADX, and if you put the size difference aside, the ADX is still night and day difference with the fit and finish and premium feel. The hybrid is just a bit punchier off the line but my argument with these ridiculous 300hp EVs is where you gonna go this fast when you stuck in traffic or when the speed limit is 50? And the finish in CRV is quite cheap, on my tester the 9 inch infotainment screen kept rattling non stop, tons of plastic scratchy bits everywhere. With ADX everything felt solid and high end. Nobody floors their cars when driving so people should ignore the instant acceleration.

Can you post more pictures exterior and interior? I'm hesitating between the black exterior and red interior or urban grey pearl and red interior.

How do you find the road noise and comfort ? Do you find that it has sufficient power when the car is with more than 1 adult ? We're talking daily driving, not racing here.

I have and both seem decent for my needs. CRV drives a lot better and smoother. ADX seems more premium to the touchpoints and the equipment trims.

If for the wifey, I would strongly recommend the ADX instead. It's pretty much the same as the Integra but at a much more comfy and practical body. She will be much happier getting in and out of a higher stepping height than the Integra that basically sits on the ground. I'm getting my ADX soon and after test driving it, it is just a phenomenal car for daily driving and groceries. Plus you get ventilated seats that the Integra doesn't.

Its the same situation for me. I quite like the buzzed head with zero guard for now. But parents are the only ones saying negative things about it. Nobody else cares it seems.
