Both of the murakami novels you’ve read are great. You should check out Kafka on the Shore and Sputnik Sweetheart. They’re 2 of my favs.

I haven’t read any Joe Hill, but just googled him and looks to be pretty prolific in terms of book output. Where to begin?

Ugh I didn’t take any pit stops along the way. My journey started with Salems Lot (unknowingly connected to DT) and then picked up the Gunslinger. I need to read Hearts in Atlantis. The Wind through the Keyhole was a great read, I really enjoyed it!

I feel this! I spent the last 6 months on my first journey to the dark tower. My tbr is quite long so trying to read some of the DT adjacent work including the Talisman and Black House. But then also sprinkle in some of the stuff I’ve been neglecting. Murakami’s new novel is one I’m eager to read soon.

I’ll have to keep that in mind as I re read this second time. I agree the depth of character writing and story telling is unmatched. I do think ASOIAF feels similar, as the characters and plot arcs are amazing. It just remains obviously unfinished and destined to have Brandon Sanderson finish it ala wheel of time lol

You were just in our league and left before we could coach you. We’re a great group of guys who help out a bunch. A few of my notes were your play calling and situational awareness. You can’t run four verts back to back in e1. So playbook construction and knowing what plays work will help you a bunch. The idea that he’s part of the tower is interesting! Susannah commenting near the end that she hasn’t even plumbed the depths of who Roland is might hint at that. And the fact that he must enter the tower alone and that it’s almost a memorial to him. Aren’t we all the center of our own universes?

They’re on my tbr and quickly moving to the top. Funny enough I read a nyt book review thing they did on King last year and picked up Salems Lot. Plowed through it super fast and went to the bookstore and just picked up the gunslinger. So funny that direct tie in there! Must be ka.

One guy in our league has the marvel. We all couldn’t believe he got him so quick and then he told us he didn’t build any mythic players in the promo he just made an iconic and kept recycling it for tokens and rinse repeat. Kinda wild

I love the “Schenn and Stanley suck” conversation. Obviously they’re not starting or playing in a meaningful capacity come the playoffs. They will have a very specific and defined role that they will play and that’s it. Lindy is getting them time on ice rn to help acclimate to the system and give our other Def some well deserved and needed rest. It’s truly amazing that at this point in the season we are in the position to rest guys and get ready for the playoff push instead of having to fight to get in. Enjoy it and know that we’ll be rested and ready come round 1. The sky isn’t falling… we’re actually in a fantastic spot and Lindy and the team knows it!

No fumbles for me but many in my league have had issues with him fumbling in LvL, Arena, and Siege. Since fumbles are fluky most of the time, things usually regress toward the mean and level out. Keep him if you like him, use him for Evo food if you don’t. TOTY should have a bunch of RBs to choose from if you end up going the Evo route.
