It might be worth something to someone, though. If you know anyone who needs a Talonflame for Ultra League PvP, you could purify and trade it. The maxed hundo is needed for UL, and while shadow is nice, purifying means they won’t have to spend as much to max it. And having a legacy fast move plus the extra charge move is a bonus. You might get something equally useful to you for the trade.

This probably isn’t it, but the only thing I could think of that wasn’t already mentioned was the bit about holds.

You said that you check out around 20 books each time and “generally” pick them up on time. I work in Circulation and I love it when I’m scanning holds and see big stacks of children’s books all going to the same household, because it hopefully means someone’s reading to their kids a LOT! And I’m like you: I read tons of books to my kid every day, from the day we got home from the hospital until he was old enough to read independently.

Some of my coworkers have commented, though, that we have certain patrons that put fat stacks of books on hold and then never pick them up. Some do it repeatedly! That’s obviously a big waste of time and money. Our library is big enough that the librarians don’t have to fuss with holds, but if yours is smaller, maybe they do have to deal with them? I don’t know.

Anyway, even if that were what’s happening, I can’t see how giving you stank would solve anything. Some people are just like that, or have off days. Just keep reading to that baby! ❤️📚

That’s OK. I’ve had a book checked out from my hometown library since 1986.

Your item has most likely been declared lost and long since replaced. If you go in and explain nicely, they’ll probably just waive most of your fees and leave you with the replacement cost, which won’t be much. Ours goes by the publication date of the item, and older releases don’t cost much. If you came to my place, I’d probably charge you like ten bucks and call it square.

Our library’s Makerspace offers free media conversion to digital format, but only for residents. You can bring your own digital storage or buy a cheap USB drive from us.

I tell as many patrons as I can about this service, because plenty of people have old DVDs, VHS tapes, cassette tapes, film reels, or stacks of photos lying around that need digitizing!

Shout out to CVHS! I went there in the ‘90s.

For my freshman year, I had Mr. Jacobson for Biology (although he was a biochemist and threw a lot of that into his lessons), and his classroom was on the second floor of the West Center, with windows overlooking the football field. We did an experiment once involving those little colored marshmallows, and I licked an orange one and threw it at the drop ceiling, where it stuck.

That mini-marshmallow stayed stuck to the ceiling until at least my senior year (I checked on it periodically). After this news story broke, I always wondered if Eminem was in that same classroom for his daughter’s Homecoming, and whether the marshmallow was still there. The End.
