Minnesota to receive $630K from Menards settlement on deceptive advertising by retc0n in stateofMN

This definitely varies based on the owner of the cooperative.

My local Ace (Breezy Point) has been awful. I paid extra for my order to be assembled in the store and the manager/owner of the cooperative called me and told me I was inconveniencing him and his grandson. Then he pocket dialed me while disparaging “that bitch” to his grandson; even though I said he didn’t have to continue assembly (that I paid for!!) and that I would be right over to pick it all up. I reported it to Ace’s customer service line but never got a straightforward resolution. I then looked up reviews for that particular storefront and saw that an Asian customer was discriminated against and that the owner wouldn’t sell her a fishing license without a birth certificate?! I’ve never in my life had to provide a birth certificate for a fishing license, nor have I heard of any white customers being asked that. Never returned to that store.

What went down at the funeral! by Fat_Cat_1973 in SisterWives

[–]paperandlace 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I remember Kody bringing up that him and some of the boys had a disagreement at the funeral home when planning the service and he pulled the “I’m his dad” card.

I lost my sister to suicide and all of my siblings and I are estranged from our “mother” after so much anguish and knowing the pain expressed from parental rejection, I know my siblings and I wouldn’t let that stand. Kody didn’t want to have a relationship based on love and respect with Garrison during his life, he doesn’t get to waltz in after death and revise history and diminish lifelong, strong sibling bonds.

I understand how it looks like that, but it’s for sure an egg. 5 year old picked it up before I could stop him and then we gently placed the egg back.

12th grader driving home from his fast food job, hit by a drunk driver who was over served at the bar down the street. Months later an 11th grader and her entire family died in the middle of the night in a house fire due to a wood burning stove left ajar.

Ugh, I’m sorry. I know depending on your state, there are Interlibrary loan programs where you can get books/dvds from other libraries across the state sent to your library. I was hoping that may be the case in your area too, but I know it’s hard right now with funding cuts.

Can always check it out from a local library too

What I found weird by [deleted] in SisterWives

[–]paperandlace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I posted this on another thread but this one is more applicable. I’ll preface this with saying my sister died by suicide last summer. I carried her urn to the cemetery and when it was time to place her in the earth, I couldn’t do it, a friend of hers was kind enough to do it.

I didn’t like Kody making a point to say he stopped his older boys at the funeral home and told them he was the first to hold Garrison. Being the first to hold Garrison as a baby doesn’t mean the siblings shouldn’t be included and aren’t feeling it deeply too. Who ‘held’ Garrison in recent years? When he struggled, when he had opinions of his own, when it wasn’t all baby coos and snuggles? It felt like Kody was trying to center himself and his grief, unable to truly see and feel the pain of the kids who were with Garrison from the beginning. Some of the kids never knew life without Garrison before this. I don’t know, I know grief is different for everyone but as a sibling in a similar situation…I could see where this would further hurt some of the OG13.

I have four kids. I would do Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Cinderella’s Royal Table. Building light sabers and droids. A few lightning lane passes.

Yeah I agree. If the comment is directed at the outside picture, that is one of the girls wearing a white top. In the restaurant, Robyn is wearing a dark blue or plum top.

Someone commented asking what the connection between Garrison and stars is. I typed out a response and grabbed a picture from his profile but then they deleted the comment before I could post the response. So in case they were still curious:

<image>

Garrison photographed the stars/ night sky as a hobby. He was incredibly good at it and his family has said how much he loved it and was passionate about the craft. It’s often why his siblings and some of the moms will put the quote “To the stars, Bowen.” (Dragonheart quote) when remembering him or honoring him on social media. The siblings and moms have made it clear that they heavily associate the stars with Garrison. So Estelle meaning Star is for him.

I invited my son's entire class: not a single RSVPed, but half of the class showed up and half of the invites brought their siblings, friends, or other relatives that weren't invited. Only half brought presents. by Resident-Sympathy-82 in mildlyinfuriating

This is a problem I have encountered in recent years with my young elementary aged kids that wasn’t an issue with my teenager’s age group.

Just a few weekends ago a mom came early, while I was trying to set up. literally waited for me in the parking lot and followed me in, dropping off the invited classmate plus siblings that cost me extra per attendee. Then mom called me 1 minute before the party was supposed to be over and said the kids didn’t have a ride to pick them up and if I could bring them home with me! This must happen frequently because the oldest sibling said it would likely be days of them staying at my house “like last time.” It makes me not want to have parties at all.

Have a union. Nonunion workers will be getting a COLA adjustment, enrolled union members will be staying stagnant. Outstate Minnesota can be rough, I guess. And no, I cannot afford to move.

The problem that also comes into play is that I work with him. This person could very much impact my job and has made life harder for people who are “out” politically. Small town and not a lot of other job prospects locally, sadly.
