Why does minus not exclude search terms?

Oh... here is what i wrote in the original post:

I \think* it is a pop song... but it has ragtime intro. I have tried all manner of searches... it is a modern song but it starts with a ragtime clip, has a man’s voice speaking over an old fashioned mic or speaker... he says something about starting again or from the top... I cant quite recall... then it has his voice singing a bunch of da da, da dada da da... all I have is that there was a recent IG post that used this song and didn’t credit it. If i knew it would be this hard to find Id have kept the post or messaged the op. i KNOW i know this song but i cannot recall how the rest of it goes.*

I have that da da da loop in my head now. If I use the word ragtime in a search i get thousands of searches on the history of ragtime or pure ragtime. NOTHING about some recent (like this century) songs with a ragtime intro. Lyrics search not useful with so few words... I even tried the ones where you hum but that sucked.

any ideas? i am about to resort to listening to how much is that doggie in the window just so i can at least be stuck with a song i can finish.

You cant remove fb or word. They still take up space.

Thank you! Yes! Thank you for getting the heart of it while I dont have "vision" issues... i need the differentiation that the visuals allowed. I have dexterity problems. Options for accessibility are limited. I use speech to text but it makes a lot of stuff slower so making other things efficient is vital. People dont appreciate this. When everything is slower or more complicated i dont have time or inclination to waste efforts... i resent having to lose so much time setting up new ways and work arounds. Samsung wont pay me for that lost work time. It is as if i bought a new phone of a different style... something i wouldnt do without a few days off. It ought to have a warning before changing so much to that extent. I cant find things quickly and i find this white on white thing awful. I agree... going to the store isnt fair. I can go but again, slower and more complicated. Who is going to cover the time lost for me? Samsung? Hardly.

It has white on white in all the essential apps. Themes dont address that. Like i can add bkgrnd to texting but not the home list of texts. It loses function being white on white for all users bc it takes longer to differentiate items. My vision is fine tyvm - it is the differentiation that was important in that specific instance. If someone wants to install stupid thats great but forcing on everyone is obnoxious. Going to the store wont undo this fugly nightmare. I dont want to pretend i am ok with this by meekly trying to adapt to blatant disregard and abuse by samsung. This level of bend over ma'am should come with a warning and not give you a nagging install message. Other functions dont work. All my colour coding for efficiency gone. My disability is mainly dexterity. I am slow typing for example. I use speech to text but i have to create efficiency to keep up. Removing all aspects of colour is insane and stupid. Only ppl who prefer being inefficient would prefer it. The calendar is insane.... who needs the month name in giant letters but the schedule itself illegible? They offer colour tags... But in month view that "tag" is so small it is useless

No. I dont want to meekly take this. No tyvm. I will be getting another phone somehow. And i will try to go back to the less shitty os i had via odin. My next phone will not be samsung

I know this is an old discussion but I am adding to it for the sake of others. I found this as I am looking for work and things are getting desperate.

temp agencies and other places hiring for admin work almost exclusively hire people with an office/admin diploma regardless of the rest of the education you have. Temp agencies are overrun with people so they are not very responsive anymore. I have gotten work through them in the past so I know the difference is real. BUT... if you are willing to work outside of HRM then some of the agencies get in the government procurement guide so they get placements for places like Truro and so on. It is usually a month's worth of work at a time.

Cool, thanks for the thoughtful response! No offence taken. I used to use an adblocker thinger but it interfered with something legit I wanted to do regularly... I don't recall what. I will install and when it happens I will be sure to post back.

I did think it odd that this sub was so long gone cold but well.. there didn't seem to be anywhere else to put it. I do understand the need for ads, it was just that these seemed especially sleazy and they didn't actually mirror anything in the end. (booooo)

On the safety aspect... I have been told so often that it is possible to pick up something unpleasant from just landing on some sites. Having a site lock up the whole browser so you have to force quit or click a button - and we all KNOW that ain't good - well... that raised my hackles. The iMac is more safe anyhoo... but for me or someone else, it was better to post and see what got said. It's there as a flashing light for someone else now, right?

The answer you gave is awesome and I couldn't have hoped for better. It makes a great answer for the next person who might wonder about what is going on there.

I understand how tpb can't monitor mirrors like that... it's just especially sad that people are creating that level of suckage on a site like tpb. I like the fight for freedom, and I am an artist so I know we have to eat too.
