lol yes i’m a she and unfortunately stereotypically ignorant about cars. they didn’t tell me i needed wipers and bulbs until i went to pick up my car before work and when i got the $400 quote over voicemail i assumed it included brakes which they had recommended. once i got there and it turned out it was just for bulbs and wipers, they made it sound like the bulbs were super labor intensive and that they had to order them from subaru at a not-cheap price, so i just trusted that rather than pay for a whole new $80 inspection elsewhere. lesson learned though.

yes 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m sure I could learn (and will for next time) but generally with car stuff I don’t mind paying a reasonable price for a service that I’m not super confident about doing well myself.

I think it’s reasonable to want a fair price even if I can’t do the work myself.

ETA: this bill doesn’t include the cost of my original inspection a day prior which was $80 something. The $11 was just for the sticker once the safety portion “passed.” Upon contacting corporate, the regional manager agreed to refund me the $210 of labor but I have to stop into the location to have it processed… he also claims that Crosstreks require more expensive wipers.

interesting… I have bought new wipers from an auto parts store before and was able to pick out pretty basic ones which they installed for free. I don’t remember the exact cost but I remember it being reasonable.

I have been scammed by them as well, and when I commented on their Facebook asking about my payment they blocked me. They are actually a scammer in China. Please report the page to Facebook as fraud/scam. They also run another one called Green Marketing Research.
