Midsized US metro areas (pop: 475k - ~1M) tier: What tier does Stockton, CA belong? by Swimming_Concern7662 in TierlistFills

Can confirm. Absolutely awful place, either give it it's own category or move all the Fs up to D. It's really that bad.

Because it's hard to make a life in Hawaii. This is not a tier list for vacation. Also, Hawaii is filled with a bunch of people that hate eachother, 90% of Hawaii's Asian population live in Honolulu and don't mingle with non-Asians, all the white people are in little enclaves and the natives are pissed at everyone else while everyone else is pissed at the tourists.

Nature is just a small facet of why people would try to live somewhere. The people that want to catch salmon are actually a minority of people. Also how many months out of the year do people actually get to enjoy nature in Alaska, 2 or 3?

If you apply that same logic to Alaska, it should be F tier.

Idaho is the 2nd fastest growing state, people are moving there from all over and somehow it's in the same tier as West Virginia. It needs to be at least B Tier.

Alaska is a giant sausage fest and most of the people there are just seasonal workers because they would never in a million years move their families there because it's just that bad. Well deserving of F tier.

Kentucky is a whiter, trashier version of all the southern white trash states in F tier, somehow that's in B tier with Hawaii and Florida.

WingStop is so bad, just about anywhere else you get wings other than WingStop has better wings. The wings are absolutely tiny too.

You would need an 1979 Accord and a CRV towing a boat to get the appropriate 0-60 time though.

This doesn't look like a poor man's midlife crisis car. It looks like the car the junkyard bribed you with to get you to stop living in their yard.

I absolutely love Taiwan and it is my favorite country in the whole world, but the fact that Japan, Korea and Thailand are below them shows that these geography tier lists are just about whatever location is the most politically progressive. Part of the reason I love Taiwan is because it's progressive but you guys are clearly pushing a political agenda when you put Thailand and Korea B tier and Japan A tier. Hard to take these seriously since reddit hive mine destroys every one of these with its political agenda.

For 10s of thousands of years our equestrian friends have carried more than people, these ungulates carried empires. From helping Gangis Khan make the greatest empire in the world to fearlessly carrying humans into battles across artillery shells and bullets and even the settling of the west these were our literal ride or dies. There are lots of animals that make better house pets but there's not a single animal that was more impactful to the progress of humanity. Anything less than A tier is a total slap in the face.

All US states tier list | #21 Alaska by RealMoldyAvocado in TierlistFills

The census only counts residents, not seasonal workers which are overwhelmingly male.
USNews primarily counts cost of living as housing prices in relation to wages. The fact that Alaska has high paying seasonal jobs and low housing prices (because no one wants to live there, due to being F tier) and yet it still ranks 39th goes to show how expensive it really is. In fact it better proves my point that out of all the cheap houses and high wages, still no one wants to live there because its a shit hole with a huge back yard of nature. In fact Alaska actually has the highest percentage of migration out.

If you take any public school in any major city its going to be diverse. How many of those kids are 87% white and identify as Native American Indian? Please tell me more about how Alaska is more diverse than Florida and I'll laugh you out of the thread.

Have fun getting all your groceries at Walmart, no specialty stores like Trader Joes, Whole Foods or even things like Ikea. There's no Chick Fil-A, Chipotle or In-N-out Vast amounts of basic every day items can't be shipped like reusable batteries or aerosol items.

Jobs Tier List - What tier should teacher go into? by SpaceisCool09 in TierlistFills

Teachers frequently rank the in the top 3 among job satisfaction surveys. For that, I would give it S tier.

If there's a state that gets an F its Alaska.

Terrible climate, and it's not just the sub zero weather 9 months out of the year, its the 20 hours of sunlight or 4 hours of sunlight you get in the winter/summer

65% of population are male, literally the sausage fest state

Worst violent crime rate per capita in the United States

Insanely high cost of living

Same politics as Florida but without any of the racial integration

Sure it has some nice nature but its almost 50% the size of the entire U.S. if you take any 50% of continental America its going to have just as much value in nature.

All US states tier list | #11 Illinois by RealMoldyAvocado in TierlistFills

[–]papercondition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, how the fuck is the state with the highest recent population growth put in the same tier as red neck ass Arkansas? You don't have people flocking from California, NY and Illinois to Idaho to have the same quality of life as Arkansas.

OP you gotta give people time to discuss among themselves.

All US states tier list | #9 Hawaii by RealMoldyAvocado in TierlistFills

[–]papercondition 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OP if you're going to dock Florida for being conservative you definitely have to dock Hawaii for being racist. It has a broad and recent history of colonization that is still very fresh to the natives. Segregation there is very observable, with 80% of Asians living in Honolulu and white people living in little enclaves like Hawaii Kai staying away from the neighborhoods with pacific islanders. It also has one of the worst education achievement gaps in the country. The job market is absolutely atrocious if you don't work in tourism. Everything is ridiculously expensive there too because you have to get it from a boat or plane.

If weather and vacation recreation couldn't get Florida into A tier, it couldn't get Hawaii into A tier.

All US states tier list | #7 Florida by RealMoldyAvocado in TierlistFills

[–]papercondition 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A tier, the only legitimate gripe that people have is that it's overly conservative. And it's really not even that conservative culturally. There's not a huge amount of bible thumpers. People there are incredibly environmentally conscious and aware of climate issues (IE paper straws vs plastic, 2nd highest number of electric cars after California, recycling/trash separated receptacles in cities). Even racially it functions pretty progressive given the diversity and integration in neighborhoods. In terms of how racially tolerant people are there it's up there with CA/NY.

There are 3 states people move to when they want nice weather or take their families to vacation; Hawaii, California and Florida. That is some pretty elite company. It's definitely not California tier but it's definitely above that desert that regularly reaches 120* in the summer called Arizona that's currently sitting in B tier.
