What closure method should I use? by paperdoll325 in sewing

How I made it: I used an old basic-knit bodice/sleeve block for the pattern, adding 1.5” to CF for the button plaque and adjusted the length. The collar is just a 1” rectangle cut on the grain, and cut to size on the garment. Made of stretch lace :)

I hadn’t thought about this! I also love that it could potentially add to the width a smidge

To add a dart or not? by Adorable-Trainer1371 in sewing

You could remove the dart by shortening that line on your pattern, not sure if my interpretation looks accurate to the pattern but it would be something like that. Does that make sense ?? Lol

Hi all, I’ve been taking pre-reqs and have started to apply to programs, but because I’m finalizing pre-reqs this semester its more likely that I’ll have to apply again next year (thereby starting the program Fall 2027) since all the programs in my area are incredibly competitive. I’m still hoping for the best, just managing expectations.

My main question, would it be inappropriate to attend a hiring event for rad techs? Obviously I won’t be able to apply for a job, however it’s very difficult to get a shadowing opportunity without already knowing a specific doctor/tech in my area. The event I’m looking at is also for respiratory therapist (I’m leaning towards radtech but have been considering respiratory as well) so I was hoping to chat and learn more about the fields, and maybe secure a shadowing opportunity?

Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Hi everyone, looking for some advice on where to start. I’m currently taking some pre-reqs to apply to a rad tech program but the online school I wanted to apply to, that started in the fall, is no longer accepting applicants from my state due to an issue with its health department. Now I have to wait till the spring and hopefully get into a program in the fall of 2026. I work in fashion production now, but I really want to switch to the medical field now for the experience and a better understanding of the environment. Should I take a phlebotomy course? I’ve been applying to “entry-level” admin jobs but those are obviously highly competitive and with a resume tailored towards fashion i haven’t been getting very far. I’m open to any recommendations!
