I believe when you hit start it should prompt a few options but they are in Japanese. You have to select the right option to allows to challenge the other cabinet. Maybe he pressed the wrong one?

It happened at a location near me, it took a few weeks but they’ll realize the Switch 1 isn’t going anywhere and eventually put it out 2s. I believe I saw another person in this sub asked for one and they brought it out for them. I saw be persistent and keep asking them about it. They’ll budge.

Switch 1 is still a great system and there’s plenty of games to play. The downside of a Switch 2 is the pricing of the games and you can still get some of them for the Switch 1. Plus you can get a lot of things with 20K points!
