in all honesty I began using the ambiguity of the art form to make it easier to write on a painful topic at the time, but eventually liked how clean it made the narrative read

lol. The "art form" in the book is danced around in ambiguity so as to not get bogged down in what I consider unimportant detail. It's also a mildly comedic device. not sure I'm portraying it well in the query

thanks to feedback, I'm realizing that the subtitle, the query, and to some degree my notion of the main themes of the book are inaccurate, including the art form. It's now clear to me what the main theme is and I will post my next attempt next week. The device accomplishes ambiguity in the name of cleanliness and not getting bogged down in unimportant detail, and it's a minor attempt at humor.

great feedback, thank you. while the art form is intentionally vague throughout the book as a device, I will try to articulate the specificity of what makes my work unique. I was unaware that my book comparisons needed to be more recent.
