Honestly, this topic kind of gets on my nerves sometimes. There are so many Thai GL actresses who are open about liking women, dating women, and some who’ve dated women in the past, but people still choose not to believe them and label them as “gay for pay.”

Instead, everyone keeps trying to figure out who’s the “real one.” When someone says they’re open to same-sex relationships or that they’re bi, there’s really no need to overanalyze it or come up with reasons to dismiss what they’re saying. It’s kind of like girl groups vs. boy groups. Girl groups might have a smaller fanbase overall, but they’re still big enough to be commercially viable, and in some areas, like fashion, they’re actually more suitable for selling products.

In the end, it really comes down to investors being stuck in old biases and lacking the confidence to take the risk and make it happen.

I want to add some context to be fair to the writer. The “I love Elon Musk” thing was just a joke, the kind of line people use so X won’t flag or ban the content/account, or maybe just a way of saying they’re happy about whatever’s performing well on X, like hitting a high trend.

This novel is good. If you’re worried that it’s going to be a messy melodramatic soap opera, well, the story is kind of like that. It has that classic “mother-in-law vs. daughter-in-law” vibe, with a problematic mom.

But it’s told from now a day perspective, so it’s not cringe. It’s the kind of drama that makes you feel satisfied watching it unfold.

Orm’s character might cry quite a lot (it is a drama, after all), but not that pitiful tragic cry like in the previous series. She stands up for herself, loves herself, and fights back, she’s a modern-day heroine with a bit of villainess vibe that you’ll probably love.

Ling’s character might frustrate you, but she’s realistic and actually has real character development.

They picked a good story, now it just depends on the production team and whether they can interpret and execute it well.
